Note to self: It is not a good idea to pack peanut butter sandwiches for lunch when you are going to spend the morning cutting up shit-filled pieces of bowel.

is that part of a dead dude's 'autoxy'?

One day I was talking to a young Greek chick neighbour about dogs, and she said her previous dog died mysteriously, "but the autoxy didn't show anythink"

While working on my non-wheeled career progression I came across this quote:

I once read a tip for employers – avoid employing unlucky people by randomly throwing half the resume's you receive in the bin.

Gold.

AKA, how airlines used to hire pilots.

They'd get a thousand applications for a dozen jobs. So it's a little more understandable.

Sounds like my day, except minus the cutting part.

Hrm....looked at the stage again just now.......Cadel still looked about as fresh as Ma's morning.

So which is the night to stay up for? We're thinking of pulling a big night of beer, pizza and bikes on Weds, seeing it's the l'Alpe d'Huez stage. Anyone got similar plans?

Note to self and anyone else who will listen: DRINK MORE WATER...
Jackhammer and cage were deployed Saturday morning up the old fella. Since discharge Saturday night still on the tail end of a pethidine injection, 4 ie FOUR episodes of the most exquisite pain - apparently caused by ureter spasm. I'm talking doubled up on the floor, crawl into the shower that provides no releif pain. Fingers on the dial for the ambo pain, just then the codeine phosphate kicks in. Its been 18 hours since the last spasm so here's hoping...

Dear TAN posters, readers, lurkers, and anyone else, the cause of all this was getting oneself slightly dehydrated. You can avoid this by drinking water, I know what fish do in it, I know beer tastes better, But, unless you too, want to give birth to three children in the space of 48 hours - keep up your fluids! Rant concludes.

HD'd the stage last night and watched it this am. Brilliant finish - edge of the seat material, putting it on a disk now. Gerrans is a hero! What a comeback. As for Cadel, the poor bastard has to use CSC to keep him anywhere near the front of the pursuers, because his useless idiot team are trailing off the back or hiding in the peloton. Just like last year he has to do it all himself. I've got even more respect for him. Tuesday, Wednesday will tell, Saturday will decide.
He can still do it but if he does it, he'll have done it all alone.

Someone made the same point this morning inthe SMH. Said he had travelled in the Soviet Union during the Cold War and there was less police presence in Russia!
I'm looking for another country to live in. Holland or Denmark sound good...

You set the IED, bbp, I'll gun down the survivors.

And the way we hired apprentices at Garden Island.
Anything over 1 page got tossed.
"They're 16 years old for fucks sake...they haven't been around long enough to fill a 2 page resume and if they have it's all lies and bullshit. Throw anything longer than 1 page in the bin then pick out a dozen at random and we'll interview them to make it look good then select anyone related to a senior officer anyway..."

...shitzroy? Is that a suburb of Melbourne or a breed of dog?

Nah, blockages, one due to cancer and one that just twisted itself into a knot so there was a dead piece of gut full of congealed blood - and the smell was something else!

But I've got a heart and some lungs waiting for me tomorrow - they're from an "autoxy"

There was a young bloke working at the bike shop who once got kneed in the guts so hard in a footy marking constest that his bowel was severed against his spine!! He didn't go the doctor until MANY hours later (!!) when he "started feeling a big crook"

Apparently it's the only documented case in Aussie Rules, so he's kinda famous in the sports medical world
