a weird one where you squeeze a rolled up towel against a wall with the back of your knee, and two with a pair of phone books (i don't have any stairs at home) - one is just a bunch of step ups, the other is a lowering of the opposite foot to nearly touch the ground. these have been given to me specifically for my individual problem, so check with your doc before you do any as mine are for a different injury to yours... |

Second to last update:
Went to a sports medicine doctor/ortho surgeon, and he took xrays which showed nothing, but he was worried because i'm so young (24) and have never had knee problems before... So he had me get an MRI... Got the MRI done Monday, and went back to see the doc today. He said everything looked fine except for some Inflamation due to over-use. He prescribed me Celebrex (anti inflamitories) and told me to stay off it for 3-4 weeks. I had been riding all this time just trying to ignore the pain. it's an addiction.I also recently (this past sunday) upgraded from my Trek1500 to a Trek Madone 5.9 (impulse buy) That thing is so smooth climbing hills - I suggest everyone get one. ![]() Now i cant ride it for a month, tho :'( |

Hide that bike at someone else's house. You won't be able to resist if it's in your view. Do what the doc says and you'll be back good as new in no time.

Great, sounds like your ok...then. Try taking some Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM. It works great and you'll feel it after a few weeks. The MSM is a natural pain killer and helps inflamation.
You got a great bike, I have the same one and love it! It is a great climber, I've had it for over a year now. It was love at first site for me. Can I ask what you paid for it? Quote:

It was a "demo bike", so it was cheaper. Everything seems brand new except there's a scratch on the rear derailer, and a scratch here and there... I can live with that for that price. Dura-ace everything, which surprised me as to how much i didnt notice the difference as compared to my Ultegra components.. The biggest difference is the climbing - I love hills now. |

Wow, that's a great price, a little over a year ago I paid $4,800 out the door, cash and I thought that was a good deal. Not paying tax does go along way. I agree Dura Ace and Ultegra are so smooth it's hard to tell a difference.
enjoy! Quote:

Hey let me know how that knee goes. I am working up an article for pezcycling news on a patient I have with a knee injury, But i have another case ahead of it on a quad injury. Knees can be complicated when it somes to cycling and its hard to find the right people to help get the job done. Good luck

The knee seems to adapt to more and more work. like, it doesnt start hurting until i bike past the 4 hr mark, and even then i only sort-of feel it. |

although it prefers the on-road more than the off-road because it's more of a closed movement. |
