You can loose weight relatively easily if you do it with a plan and stick to it. The plan can be very simple.
Eat 500 calories less than you burn each day. Don't eat junk food or drink soda. Don't worry about the fat in your diet. I eat 50-60% fat everyday. I just make sure it's all high quality, nutritious foods. Fat doesn't make you fat, eating more calories than you burn makes you fat. You need plenty of protein as well as good amounts of fat if you want to feel satisfied when you eat. Nothing but carbs and your blood sugar level with bounce around and demand more glucose. You'll satify that by eating more. I found that by tracking my calories for a few weeks on fitday, I could eat without tracking them. 5 fist-sized portions of highly nutritious foods each day, provided me with about 2500 calories. I found that I burned 3000 on average. Loose a pound a week and you'll be thin in no time. |

Maybe be content with yourself. I'm switching from Powerlifting to Cycling due to a knee injury where I can spin but no more 1 max squats. I weigh 238 currently above my competition weight of 225. You can still improve regardless of your weight. Ride your butt off & worry less about dieting. I hate all the magazines where people are tanned & toned with 4 percent bodyfat.
My Reality:I work a 10 hour a day job with 1 Saturday a month, have a wife & kid as well as other activities. The Magazines reality: Leave out how these people are payed to cycle all day long, have A or numerous personal trainers, unlimited suppliments & a dietition. Give yourself a cheat day & live for it. Mine is Sunday. If I wanna eat a sleeve of Oreos w/penutbutter ripple icecream 'til I'm ready to pop...so be it...(after my normal meals). It's ALOT easier to eat in a controlled manner if you know you can go "all out" in a few days. After my cheat day I don't have junk cravings for a few days afterwards & my best weighlifting workouts were Monday/Tuesday. I'll assume my cycling will be the same. My tank was full & had the most energy/strength. Don't mean to sound all "lovey-dovey" dude but, be happy with yourself because negitive thinking ALWAYS killed my whole mood & I'm REAL familiar with depression. Even if you ARE overweight to your standards stay positive. Your still a Lamborghini bro! ![]() |

Lot of interesting comments in this thread. I've recently gone from about 85kg to 81-82kg. The thing that really made the difference for me was cutting down portion sizes and addressing WHY i was eating so much (depression). There are little tricks that you can do to help yourself out. If you are adicted to soft drink - replace it with some fruit juice mixed with cold water - still has taste and will help to cut down the urge. (i mix 1/3 pineaapple juice with 2/3rds water). Also doing something for yourself like buying a special drink bottle will help inspire you to do the right thing.
In terms of exercising - i found that a little bit of cross training always helped. At the moment I run once a week and ride 4-7times (40klms min). Some of those rides are commutes to work which is a 25k trip one way. I find this helps a lot as you can multitask. I used to ride, swim, run and do weights - that REALLY melted the fat off - but it took up a heck of a lot of time (i was following the navy seals PT training program). Riding to and from work tho is the key. After a shower at the destination most of the worries of the day are gone ![]() |

I hope you`ve lost some "real" weight. You can lose few kilos very quickly but it`ll mostly be water and muscles. Losing fat takes a lot more time and proper diet. Good luck in the future!

I keep on telling people this:
Get some liquid ConcenTrace colloidal minerals and take the recommended amount. Expose yourself to cold as much as you can without getting sick. This combination will definitely improve many health aspects. The cold showers/cold air in particular will raise your testosterone and other androgens, and in this way you can train more intensely. Since you seem to be a dedicated cyclist this may be a good option for you. Jacob
