Not only is Dick Cheney a completely incompetent politician, it seems that he can't even shoot properly.
His mate is still alive. Read all about it : http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060212...unting_accident

I have accidently been shot/sprayed several times while bird hunting. It can happen even by the most experienced people. In this case it happened with someone more popular and with with a little more hazardous impact. However, I still think he was careless in pointing his gun and firing without having a clear shot. I have seen dogs get shot as well. I guess sometimes people get a little too excited and prematurely pull the trigger.
The only time I have hit someone was at an indoor range shooting one of my .45 ACP's and a ricochet came back and hit my friend in the neck which is supposed to be impossible since the back walls are angled to stop the bullet. It had very little impact, but the hot lead stuck to his neck and burned a hole through his skin. Since then I have had several pieces of lead come back and hit me in the chest. |

i suspect that if Wurm did publish every mistake, slip or total total balls up that emerges from the Bush camp, he'd be on the soap box 24-7 writing stories.

Cheney had his sights set on a bird so the the guy got some of the fall out and was peppered with buckshot. Whittington was at fault for coming up from behind Cheney and another hunter without indicating or announcing himself. if you know anything about hunting, you know he broke a cardinal rule.

If Cheney had been hunting with Al Gore, Cindy Sheehan , or possibly with Wurm , then I would suggest a possible conspirecy. But after raising hunting dogs over 20 years and spending countless hours in the field, I am curious as to how this happened. I had a personal philosophy of not being around guns except with just about 4 of my friends that I knew well.

If you knew anything about firearms you would know that you don't use buckshot to shoot birds. ![]()

I would think it wouldn't be a big deal. His hunting partner was a lawyer.
I wasn't a fan of Cheney's until I discoverd he was a quail hunter. I've pursued those tasty little things all over the midwest myself. I just read where he carries a 28 gauge. I wonder what kind of dog he was shooting over? I never met a man who hunted quail that I didn't like. Too bad I can't go out on the campaign trail for him. From what Armstrong said that happened , the lawyer was to blame. He went in on the backside in pursuit of a dead bird with out telling the other group where he was. He broke the cardinal rule of bird hunters shooting over dogs. The NRA is not a spokesman for hunters, but a spokesman for gun owners.
