I don't use it, but yeah there are recessed anchors built into the rain channels along the roof, designed to take a specific model Thule rack. A guy at work uses his and it works great.

If you fold the rear seats down you can easily get a road bike inside by taking off the front wheel and laying it in flat. That works for me when I use it, which isn't that much either. At this point I ride over 7,000 miles a year and only drive it about half of that. Most of the ride miles are commuting on one of two hybrids. Most of the miles on the M3 are of the yeehaw variety, and that is just as it should be as well. The stick version is easily the most fun car to drive that I have ever found.

Speaking of car racks, it seems nowadays that I have a car trunk rack permanently attached to my car for the summer . It seems that car racks in and of themselves are not a high theft item, whereas the bikes themselves are of course.

never put a trunk rack on a bmw... they tear the hell out of the trunk and pedals always scratch the bumper... I hate those things...

Besides, if you look at the photo of the bike it doesnt look like the type of bike thats ever been hauled by a car...
