I like step-ups more than squats. They are more simular to the pedaling action than squats, and they are easier on my back. I dug a 12inch hole in my back yard, and put two cinder blocks right next to it. It's the sturdiest step-up platform you could make.
(I can't do them in my basement, ceiling is too low)

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know where to find height and weights of world cup cyclists preferably the sprinters?

Ok back on leg press, today i tried these 1 legged version id read on here or other forum somewhere.I didnt bother with the 45deg press machine, just the straight out style.
I was quite impressed with this exercise, and found myself with that aching pain in the top of my hammys/base of glutes that you get when you know youve worked hard.
