I liked The Jam too.
Pink Floyd are great so too The Band, Cream, The Who, The Clash, Steeley Dan, Doobey Brothers, I've dug out a lot of my old vinyl records from the 1980's recently and listening to it again has made me appreciate it again. Human League (Dare album), Spandau Ballet, Simple Minds, Big Country, Blue Nile, Lotus Eaters, Ultravox.

Lim, Cannibal, we I have similar musical affiliations. Bob Dylan, first & formost! Then comes the Doors, I guess I could say that Jim Morrison speaks to me. Pink Floyd, wonderful. The Stones, Jethro Tull, The Who, The Band, Johnny Cash, Willy Neslon, Niel Young, Hank Williams [Sr.!]. The Beatals, The Dead, Led Zeppelin, and of courese.....AC/DC.

Well I've seen most of the choices, but mine were all 12 and 16 bar blues riffs to keep up the cadence in time. Obviously you lot are not blowing you brains out enough on the climbs. New York City was good, but Green Onions was more rousing. I've been hooked on a Hammond B3 with twin Lesley tone speakers all my life.

I missed Bob Dylan first time around because of racing in France. I have caught up with it now due to some original documentaries. The man was not a folk singer per se. He was a bloody genius.

i have seen the the new riders, small nightclub venue it was...
still remember the song "falling out of love" from that night. van the man, seen 'im three times, once mose allison opened. given your mention, perhaps dan hicks and the hot licks acoustic warriors rings a bell? or the nitty gritty dirt band? rowan brothers? john hartford? joy of cooking? i could go on... did you hear the one about willie nelson, he and the leader of "asleep at the wheel" were discussing the relative sizes of texas ranches, the subject of how long it would take to traverse these spreads was being tossed about, willie claimed you could drive pretty near all day and still not be off the one he used to own, to this, the heavily drawled reply; "yep, we got us a truck like that, too". if you be not laughing, then i guess you had to be there... i have also seen spirit with randy california, power trio club date. usual spirit drummer and unusual bassist "freedom"
(leopard tight clad mohawk wearing bloke) they tributed hendrix, including "all along the watchtower" and ran through the litany of spirit tunes, albeit devoid of the clean pop edge of the studio cuts... canned heat opened that evening. my fave bluesbreakers album right "a hard road" with fleetwood mack alumni to be, including peter green. what about electric hot #+ckin& tuna? with the mere mention of stephenwolf, "who needs ya" starts ringing out in my head. I 've seen NRPS many times but would have loved to see them in a small venue. It had to be a good show. I've never seen Dan Hicks , but I have a buddy who has nothing but good things to say.... Nitty Gritty Dirt Band played many times in my hometown and we went to them with a good group of friends. I still try to see Willie a couple of times a year. And of course Janis.... I have a pic of her over my computer desk..... I went recently to this guy called Reverend Horton Heat ... it was a great show.... small venue type of thing.
