I've said this many times too: I don't support Bush. If I was given the choice between Kerry and Bush I would have spoilt my vote. I'm just not a big fan of what I would call extremists - and you fall into that category. You are exactly what you despise but with a different spin - much in the same way you accuse people of blindly following Bushco you blindly hate Bushco and happily swallow every morsel of anti Bush info you can get your hands on. As far as my support for politics locally - I voted YES at the referendum (which was effectively a "should we end apartheid" national vote). I vote for the Democratic Party locally (which is very different from the republican/democrat choice you have in the US). I believe in a capitlist democracy - which being white in south africa means I get outvoted everytime by the black majority as politics is still very colour oriented over here. Anything else you want to know? |

After giving it some thought I figured this:
It's not the extremism - it's the negativity. You don't offer answers you only offer problems. You don't say how the US can be improved you say only why the US is crap. You don't say who you support - you say who you don't support. You don't point out any right Bushy might have done - you only point out his mistakes. Come to South Africa and see what real problems look like - you'll head back to the land of opportunity thanking every deity in the universe that you have a good life. |

You seem to be able to amuse yourself quite easily. I watched Bush on CNN this morning as I had my coffee. So relaxing..... Then last night as I watched Fox describe the alleged charges against DeLay, I finally figured out why Earle is such a petty individual.... Look at those ears!!!!!!! Makes sense to me now. |

"You don't offer answers you only offer problems."
As I've said elsewhere, the answer is to FIRST rid ourselves of the criminal junta that's in place. Nothing can change for the better until they're gone. "You don't say how the US can be improved you say only why the US is crap." See above. "You don't say who you support - you say who you don't support." At this point, I support almost anyone that does NOT support the current Republican agenda. That includes not supporting Dems, Progs, Greens, Liberts, or Indys that are still cheering on the Iraq conflict, and/or going along with the blank checks being given by Congress to pay for it. Nor do I back anyone who wants more tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations. Etc. and so on. "You don't point out any right Bushy might have done - you only point out his mistakes." Because his "mistakes" (which are not mistakes by and large, but intentional actions) are so incredibly overwhelming to anything he may have done positive. In fact, I can't think of one substantive governmental act that his admin. has accomplished in the positive column. The only other thing potentially good that Smirk W. Chimp did was when he choked on that pretzel. But the moron even focked that up. "Come to South Africa and see what real problems look like -" Real problems? What might they be? Like: ~ the poverty in the U.S. that exists right next to the conspicuous consumers living the Life of Reilly? ~ the police brutality, and arrests for non-violent protests?? ~ the widespread election fraud since '00? ~ the lack of basic health care to its citizens? ~ the polluted waterways and land and air? ~ acid rain? ~ State-controlled media? ~ wanton destruction of wetlands and forests for financial gain? ~ good jobs sold to overseas concerns, never to return or be replaced with equal-paying jobs? ~ U.S. corporations paying little or nothing of their rightful tax burden? ~ discrimination against minorities? ~ The federal gov't and FEMA attempting to militarize the country, re: New Orleans? ~ the federal gov't borrowing and spending our grandchildren into yet deeper poverty? ~ Rampant gov't corruption by the party in power? Need more examples of how "great" it is to live in the U.S. at this time?

Eldron .. Now I get to tell you what a "great life" America offers.. Plenty of jobs that are created everyday in most sectors of society. Not living in fear that the local police are going to kick your door in and arrest you. Free elections that elect a canidate that the people want. Health care provided to all citizens regardless of income. Tough EPA standards that sre being toughened everyday in a way that does not punish business and capitiolism when following the rules. A government that allows liberal media to exsist. A movement in this country by organizations such as Ducks Unlimited to preserve the wetlands. Although the Nation has not met the goal of no net loss of wetlands, substantial progress has been made in reducing the rate of loss. And I could go on and on ............ Some of us respect other nations, but we also realize that we also have it very good here. |

Hey Eldron, you really didn't expect any answers from the Wurmster. Just more complaining and no solutions are given. No wonder no one takes him seriously. |

You are correct, I should have typed responsibly. Drinking and driving (any type vehicle) don't mix. So, if you have to drink and drive, drive really fast and so you'll get off the streets quicker. Mind altering substances have no place in cycling. But, if you read some of the post from the tin-foil hats, you'd think there's a lot of abuse going on here. Either that, or someone is not taking the meds their doctor told them to take. Eldron, careful. You started by saying that you were tired of reading cut & paste political crap, then you start talking politics. That how THEY get to you.

The other bad thing about politics is that there are very few female "office holders" with a nice ass and big boobs. I mean how interseting can politics be? OK! Back to the ballgame.

Half time report: There is not enough alcohol in the world to allow me to let myself even think about such a vision. Wolf, you are a sick puppy... of course so am I, and what I am wondering is why you are not at any of the sick puppy meetings. OK, second half about to begin. Go VOLS!

Those are real problems? You're a spoilt kid who doesn't know how lucky he is. In South Africa we an unemployment rate of 40% with zero government support. So basically if you don't have a job you starve to death. Oh yes - and some acid rain falls...... I also don't understand your "first we throw out the current governement and then see what happens" approach. Surely your time would be better spent finding a candidate that you do like and channeling your energy into getting him into office rather than smashing Bush and then picking up the pieces? Let's face it - Bush aint never gonna be impeached so he's in the white house until the next elections - why not make sure there is strong opposition otherwise Bush will employ the next republican poster boy and the whole cycle will be repeated? I have a strong feeling that's exactly what you want so you can bitch and moan for another couple of years..... |

Ahhhh the glass is half full.... Cool. I have a bunch of friends that have emirated to the US - or are completing lengthy projects in the US and all have commented on the high standard of living, efficient government services and low levels of crime. I'm hoping for 2 or 3 year project somewhere in the US - I'm keen to see the place from a resident point of view rather than my current tourist status. Not permanently though - I'm south african through and through! Vive le global platform, drunken bike riding, duck saving and MountainPro making true on his promise to visit the dark continent! |
