Those wheels sure do look nice. I would have to save up for a while though. I guess you get what you pay for ehh.

I disagree. I think that the Crossmax's are wheels that are aimed specifically at pros. For the average rider they are far too expensive imho and for a heavy rider I would have doubts about the strength. The ebst bet would be a Mavic rim such as the xm317 as described by someone else above which should be strong enough. The other issue is rebuildability. With a "normal" rim if you have a spoke failure on the trail it is easy to make adjustments to compensate and fitting new spokes is easy. many of the speacialist wheelsets (Crossmax's, Spinergy wheels etc) require specialist spokes which may not be so easy to get hold of.
