WBT, you are officially a Jackass in my book.
Here is Lance's quote:
"I am sorry I am going to have to say it in English because obviously my French is not so good."
How you got: "he even said that he won't do it in French because he's French is not so good......." is beyond me. Are you living in a fantasy world? Its funny how you started a thread about something so trivial as LA's victory speech because of your bitterness towards LA and screwed it up. I guess while you were watching the speech you heard what YOU wished to hear and not what was actually spoken. Are you a journalist? Your ability to manipulate is outstanding. Do you hate LA & Discovery that much? Oh yeah, one last thing, Dont go disappearing on me now!!!!

I guess I'm glad he's gone also...so I don't have to read the crap about people dissing him. He won the race. Plain and simple.

Regardless of what you think of Lance and/or his speech, he still won #7.

He's a bike racer, not a public speaker. give the man his props.

If you think he's somehow getting past EVERY drug test and still doping, give him that much, not only is he a fantastic racer, he's smart and able to slip under the radar.

I've been reading this board for a few months and I haven't read ANYTHING from flyer that isn't about dope.

It is clear you are sure everyone is doping and it's been going on for years.

if this is the case and you really believe it, why beat the drum of yours?

let it be.

dope or no dope I still love to watch the racing.

if you can't stomach it, don't watch and don't you have anything better to do than spend time with your doping posts?

It's clear you don't enjoy the sport.

Amazing that everything he does is so completely dissected by those wishing to find fault. It was, in essence, a very clumsy speech in terms of his delivery. But as an impromptu statement after finishing a 3000 kilometer race, it was high in substance.

He put his hand on the shoulder of the man he has most respected and feared, and acknowledged him as a worthy opponent and colleague. After those words, he probably had some difficulty in how to phrase his feelings for Basso without dampening his praise for Jan -- he didn't exactly succeed, but what was evident, at least to me, is his sincere respect for the two riders who have most recently made him work the hardest to achieve his goals.

As for his more pointed remarks about the doping skeptics, take that any way you wish. All I know is that Flyer should feel especially honored today, given that Armstrong went out of his way to express how sorry he feels for him.

And you have all the insight of a turd. Armstrong's cult of personality is evident on both sides of the Atlantic these days; he is a human lightning rod bringing attention to the sport of cycling and a poster-boy for the fight against cancer. Charisma is more than the ability to turn a phrase, and I can only imagine how smooth and polished you'd be if someone put you up on a podium and asked you to address the cycling world after a leisurely 150 k in the saddle.

Don't fret; there will always be someone successful available for you to envy and loathe.

I am no great Lance cheer leader but his speeches aren't what I enjoy watching him for.
what counts.

Criticize Lance for winning the Tour in 1999 when the real contenders were out because of the doping scandal.

Criticize Lance for winning when the contenders were back, in 2000. They weren't warmed up.

Criticize Lance for playing mind games in 2001. They weren't thinking.

Criticize Lance for winning too much in 2002. He cheated, by having a team.

Criticize Lance for looking weak in 2003. He's carrying the sandbagging too far.

Criticize Lance for looking strong in 2004. He really was sandbagging in 2003.

And now, his performance in 2005 was so beyond reproach, the critics are busted down to ranking out his farewell speech.

One of the things I will miss about the Lance era is the increasingly absurd critiques directed at Lance. The more he won, the sillier they became. Anyone remember the black socks?

It's fortunate that he retired when he did, the armchair cyclists were really starting to scrape rock bottom.

Listened to the speach last night and I didn't find it to be condecending. More like he really didn't know what to say after praising Ullrich and exclaiming what a friend Basso is. Was it a great speach? No. But who cares he's a pro bike rider not a speach maker. They guy dominated the tour for 7 years he can say whatever he wants. Those who dislike him will find something else to complain about next year so get your digs in now.

once....just once i wish you'd back up your irritating bs rhetoric with some data. not conjecture. not assumptions. not "well...prove that he's not." not anything but facts buddy. until then, you'll continue to be the single most irritating poster on a board full of irritating posters.

Pretty good company.

Did Greg Lemond isnīt the smartest guy out there! Heīs a bitter man and who can blame him! First his teammate stabs him in the back and then his brother-in-law shoots him in it!

He could have easily won 5 Tours but he didnīt and he is bitter! In ī90 he claims everyone was using EPO because he couldnīt keep up! He gained weight in the off season and could lose it all while a group of young riders on the rise took over. And as I mentioned his fastest ride in an ITT in the TDF set in what year was it? held up for all of the 90īs! It was a shorter ITT and slightly down hill but you would think if EPO increases performance 10-15% someone like maybe Miguel Indurain would have had a faster ride!

Emma Oīreily stated LA talked about using EPO. Just like you Flyer! Are you using EPO?

Walsh is a freak who dedicated five years of his life to bring down LA. Thatīs twisted!

Oīreily claims she disposed of seringes for LA! LA admited he injects vitamins during the tour! Oīreily said she had no idea what was in the seringes!

She claims she got drugs for LA from Spain. What drugs were they? She doesnīt know! Were they for his post cancer treatment? I donīt know!

Walsh says he doesnīt prove anything! He takes some facts and frames them in a way to create suspisionī! Heīs out to make money off LA thatīs all. Just like Anderson. buddy.
