Eurosport are saying that Ferretti (Fasso DS) is spitting nails over Frigo.

Fassa were casting round for a new sponsor and this news has made that objective much tougher.
Several potential sponsors have ceased to be interested.

I love the sport of cycling. But I fully understand at times as to why potential sponsors shy away. I am not naive about doping in the TDF and cycling in general. { And please Flyer, when you respond to this, please keep the post relevent to just the effects doping has on sponsorship }.........
I personally had to generate sponsorship for our team and our local crit years ago. Certain riders on our team made it extremly difficult with their extreme views toward certain sponsors. The corporate sponsors make the TDF happen. { Ok , Flyer, this is your opening to let us know how the corporate drug companies dictate policy at the TDF. }
Doping has been a part of the TDF for many years. It is not going away. but when a rider gets caught, punishment must be swift and strong. When a rider tests dirty, the dirty rider has stolen from his fans. He has stolen from his peers.

What would happen if Pfizer tried to buy a team... I can see a Viagra team trying to "keep it up" in a team TT.

Are there a limited number of teams available... or can anyone get a team, if they could qualify.

Relevant? Somewhat?

You mean being arrested after having your wife caught with EPO---despite the so-called drug testing which in practiced in the TDF is not relevant to the topic????

Blood boosters not relevant for time trials?

Get a clue mister. Doping is on topic for the Tour!!

We have established that if Lance Armstrong's team wanted to carry illegal drugs, research drugs, designer drugs, EPO, Actovegin and insulin-----the Dope Control would never detect it.

And since every else seems to use illegal drugs---we assume he his too.

btw: It does not take a very high horse to rise above cheating, lying drug addicts. The doping bar is set below ground level.

my GOD man! read my effing post!!!! i never said that there is no doping. in fact, i only stated that my ONLY beef with you (in prior threads) was that your mind seems to see people being cool with and condoning doping when that might not be the case.

I guess this shows us how much EPO they are doing as they are running low at the mid-way point. However, they were in the high mountains, close to Italy & Switzerland and easy resupply zones.

No real surprise.

I would love for the police to catch out an unmarked mobile camper (MASH Unit) for a grander bust.

Ferretti has only his sport to blame.

Frigo was courted by Ferretti, that is true.
This matter is fatal, from a commercial viewpoint.
Ethically Ferretti is compromised because of his closeness to Frigo.
His credibility is seriously compromised.

Fair points, I think.
