I have a large contigent of well trained Gophers I have been holding in reserve. I suppose I could spare a few for clean-up operations.but I hesitate to turn them loose. Once they have tasted the kill there is just no stopping the blood-thirsty little varmits.

Not sure if you do so intentionally, but I've noticed you refer to conscripts on several occasions with regards to our troops in Iraq. Those (conscripts) do not exist in our country at the moment, nor have they for quite some time. And to pre-empt DavidMC's response , the selective stop-loss policy still does not meet any definition of conscript that I am aware of... |

I agree w/ Representative Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y., Korean War Vet) that we should reinstate the draft. If Bush's war in Iraq is so "just", the country would have no problem w/ that. Right If I can enlist, which I did, the "rich" kids (e.g.-GW Bush's daughters) can fight too ![]()

It is so significant, I'll paste an excerpt here: "...First daughters Jenna and Barbara Bush will be assigned to a high-tech unit in Iraq, the Air Force Human Resources Command has confirmed. Having finished basic training at the Officer Training School (OTS) at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, they are scheduled to receive advanced training in telecommunications at the School of Information Technology before deployment overseas with the USAF Information Operations Squadron. For security reasons, the exact dates have been withheld. The girls' surprise enlistment was kept secret until they successfully completed their basic training. During an invitation-only press conference while on leave between OTS and their school assignment - conducted, symbolically, at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware where America's war dead are brought - the twins described their motives and rationale..." ![]()

I equate Bush's War (Iraq) to this scenario:
Someone (Bush/Rummy/Cheney) steals my car (our Troop's) & in the process, runs down a murderer (Uday & Qusay). He destroys my car (our Troops, whats left of them now) in the process. Should I run up to the car thief (Bush/Rummy/Cheney) & give him a big hug or have him arrested for stealing & destroying my car (our troops/military) I'm leaning heavily towards the later ![]()

I would recommend giving him a big hug. After all, he has a funny accent and is more than capable of driving the metaphorical car into the two turban-wearing losers with the public's support. ![]()

Just to piss off carrera...
MC, why did you want to join the military (or did you?)? I'd sell my soul before I would dress in camo and clip a glock and a radio to my belt ![]()

Can't stop laughing at that, huskey; even though I've seen that many a time I always end up laughing myself into a delirious state.

I joined in 1986 because I didn't have alot going on & I wanted to "see the world", which I did. Turns out, I liked it but, it started changing for the worse, through micro-management, after the belin wall fell so I got out. A month later, Gulf War I started.
