Quote:

Nunca he oido a Lance hablando castellano - solo "un momento" y frases asi. Eusakarz badakizu? Man - we have totally hijacked this thread from the football theme. |

Also don't forget that many stadiums are switching to "fake grass" it has all of the performance, forgiveness, and feel of real grass but withvery little maintenance (continuous cutting, painting and watering) a couple of stadiums have it on a test basis and many of the players love it so you will probably see it become a staple pretty soon. The only surfaces you do not wear "spikes" are on astro turf. Astro turf has been attributed to many a destroyed knees, ankels and hips. The circumstances behind these injuries would not have been the case on real or fake grass... I agree with you guys about rugby though. a brutal sport. I would have to say the closest thing we have would be hockey in terms of the toughness of the players and hits. I will say though that American football players are race cars in terms of their performance. The terminal collision of two of these guys at over 20 MPH would hurt anyone. But they routinely do it and get up and go do it again.

Do you think there are many people who are following all of this? Quote:

When I watched the encierro in Tudela, the bulls seemed small so I opted to run the next morning at 7.30 a.m. On arrival they tried to disqualify me for running in zapatillas.
The rockets went off and I heard the noise of an approaching stampede. I looked behind and, to my horror, these were no small bulls that day. They were extremely big. I was terrified but you can't outrun a bull. Somehow I later appeared on Spanish TV, shown running for my life. A friend was tossed by a cow apparently like a rag doll. He never ran after that. Zapper, you use some 2-bit web translator that spits out funny sounding phrases and you think it's Carrera's Spanish that isn't too good? Plug this one in: "que te jodas" |
