Depending on the circumstances it may be siezed as evidence, you may be
arrested, it all depends on who, what, where, when and factors relating
to the officers personal views, experience and life.
However the same officer may have a large combat/locking knife on his
person....

Reports of off duty officers having such items is not unknown either,
but whose going to nick them?
