Hi I didn't know about your site. Sure looks pretty. And yes, I am going to do some of the rides because they're exact at the spot I opted for winter trainings. I've got one for you to. It incorporates several (longer) trips in the Netherlands. Some of them are cyclosportive events. Check the lowest route... MERGELLAND-ROUTE.... http://home-1.worldonline.nl/~sb138958/route.html Wow that ride towards Greece! Tip of the hat for that. I guess that's what Americans call "the ride of a life time"?! I prefer shorter rides (approx 100-150km when solo), but I ride at higher speeds (between 32 and 40 when soloing). If you are in need for any info about the Mergelland route or if you need a translation, don't hessitate to ask. By the way the green traffic signs are areas where the car route deviates from the (green) bike route. Also there are still blue signs. I think there from an older Mergelland route. B.

I've followed chucks and bits of the M-Route, but have yet to do the whole route. The bits and pieces I've ridden are all great, often times there is a "special" bike loop o fthe M-route, not open to cars, but you are always led back to the main way.
Since there really isn't anyplace flat around here I have given up on average speeds. Usually I go out for 2-4 hours and get between 80-110 KM knocked out depending on the loop I take. I'll probably wait until spring to tackle to ful M-Route though since the typical weather has finally tacked us down... It depends really, often in the coldest part of the year I'll set out to rack up some long slow crazy man miles to get out of the house... :-) Thanks for sharing the info! I'm still mystified about the Athens ride HR |
