EoinC, How do you get stressed in an office Sarawak? Surely the mosquito's aren't all that bad are they? Do they still have the Malaysian Anchor, Carlesburg and Singapore Tiger there to? Kind regards,

I left Sarawak in March (although I went back there for one night on the town last month) to carry out some work in Pasir Gudang (JB), before heading back over to West Africa. I'm back in Aussie at the moment, and shall be flying back to Africa in a couple of weeks. I don't like this bloody cold weather we're having in Perth. Buggered if I understand why my ancestors didn't hop off the boat part way when coming down from Scotland to equally-miserable Enzud. |

EoinC, You know if your cold in Perth, you just need to switch from Emu to Bundy. So what are you going to drink in West Africa? Kind regards,

there are some countries where you can live off alchohol quite easily... last time i was in Manila a beer cost me 10 pesos. (about 10 pence)....that same beer, San Miguel (made in the Philippines) imported though a chinese supermarket here in the UK cost me £2.50 for a bottle. Similarly, when in Manila just before new year 1999/2000 i went out to find a shop selling malt whisky. After a long search i found one. The guy had had it for a while. It was all dusty. Cardhu. A lovely dram. He thought he would over charge me seeing that i was white (and by default very wealthy). The bottle cost me 600 Pesos. (6 quid). It costs £25 here in Scotland where it is made... amazing.

Runner, I've heard of people putting salt and pepper in their beer, but have never felt so disposed myself. I figure that any brewer should know what's best. Personally, I prefer salt and pepper on lightly battered seafood and then wash down with beer! Kind regards,

I would, really, but I keg my homebrew. You guys will just have to ride over to Imperial, PA and have a pint or 12 with me. BTW, I tap my homebrewed pumpkin ale for Halloween on Tuesday. And Saturday is our Apple press for our cider making. Last years batch with cinnamon is wonderful.

No salt. Pepper is added to the boil. You really can't taste the pepper but after a couple of pints you feel the *warmth* in your chest. This is a great drink with good food.
