Yes it will increase cadence, you won't get as tired, and you'll be able to ride further. Another thing here. Don't even think about weightlifting, just do your other sports as well.

He has some "cred" - he's here on this board. Out in that (Western) part of the state, there's many hills - actually beautiful country, just all those damn Hokies! (Although, it appears he's from the "flatlands" in Suffolk, VA.) Anyway, I will let Zapper explain what a Hokie is - I have my theories, but I will give him the option!! For all the Europeans here, it's a huge rivalry between the University of Virginia & Virginia Tech. I am not sure how to equate it to any big rivalries there. Always makes for a good game, regardless of how the season may be going. The game is on the 27th in their "house" (Blacksburg, VA). Recently, they added a trophy for the game, the Commonwealth Cup, which we won last year in Charlottesville (home of UVa).

It's good to see the old crew returning to have some good conversation about cycling.
Kinda miss the knowledge of people on the old ES site.

Have renewed my subscription to Cycle Sport, I had started to buy ProCycling but it seems to be very LA-centric.
I cannot recall a month recently when it didn't feature LA.

CS is more rounded - enjoyed the articles they did about the different cycling nations.
Holland article was very good : seeing Rooks, Zootemelk & Co.

New procycing issue. LA on cover BIG. I'm tiring of it too. Heard Tyler was guilty numerous times w/ the exception of avoiding the olympic re-test by an independent body. I do tend to believe ryan_velo's tagline of "every body wants to know what I'm on. What am I on? I'm on my bike busting my ass 6 hours a day. What are you on?

No wonder I never won the TDF. I was only doing 5 hours a day. In retrospect, and I never gave it much thought we counted training in hours, and not kms or miles. When I was young we counted up the miles and noted them much the same as BRF does. Logically his method makes sense, because riders can relate to a target, or targets of increasing the miles progressively, whereas one eventually counts in hours. Where the changeover from Kms/miles to hours in the saddle changed, I cannot recall, perhaps it has something to do with the seriousness of using time as a parameter. On a personal level I know many top class English riders who didn't live on the continent, but always referred to hours, and not miles. Believe me, BRF was a superb rider at all disciplines, and I don't want him round here letting my tyres down. You see, LA counts in hours, and he only comes here for his holidays!

38 jahren, mij gott, wereld campion!! I'll never forget the Dutch commentator, when Joop cleared off. Has he still got the Hotel in Meaux? Might even buy CS. Did anyone notice that Bush wore a yellow LA band on his wrist. I didn't notice a TH one, wonder why? Lim, where's Fergs? get him on, and a few of the others also. We want to stick it up ES, and the sooner the better. It's taking shape, and the sooner Hetchins gets on the better. My thinking is now that they've shit on us, yet still keep other MB's open in the same format, what's their problem? Another lame excuse from Picard stating that they haven't got a moderator for the cycling board. To me that's a pathetic excuse, and has no foundation. This might sound mercenary, but I did mention to Picard that the commentary team rely on interjections from posters for fill-ins when there is not much going on, and if we are not there, they will have not much of consequece. DD always mentions you, Hetchins, MCM, and not me, unless they have to. This board at the moment, is responsible, and the topics discussed in a light and good hearted manner. Just wait a bit, until the bait arrives.

What bloody picture? Hey thanks for for the pics you sent the other week. You had the right job in the shitty weather. Supping all the tea, and keeping your hands warm. Who was that x-eyed woman in the picture? What do you think about ES now? Do you think we should stay on here, if we can pull the better ones in. All opinions are valuable.

Hi FredC

Yes we need to pull in the others

I'm divining through all my e-mails to get addresses

and in the old board archives too

Talk to you soon

hectic week this week .......................

Off to the 6days of Gent on Friday to see Saturday and Sunday racing.
Not a trackie per se but my interest is increasing especially as the Downing brothers are there,

I've been following them with the Recycling team, I met them all at the Nationals at Newport, and the rest of the team, lovely lads. (and no didn't check the derrieres, but will at the weekend) Met the team owners too very nice people and like the ethos they are giving out. I hope they do well in Europe. We need a British influence somewhere.

and of course I'll catching up with continental friend(s)

Oh and Fred, Happy Birthday for tomorrow.......... candles are in the post................... don't set the room alight when you light them.

Will speak tomorow anyway.

Oh Lim

Please lets have a good slagging off of Christi Valentine Anderson.

That woman deserves it, and now is the time to stir it up again.

After all the lies she told in that article on Pez, and had to re-do it I don't believe a word she says.

And this wonderful relationship she has with Fassa Bortolo and Petacchi and his blue eyes.

As they said on the Oprah thread.

Vomit bags at the ready.

I wish they would keep her down in the colonies and keep her away from Eurosport, but the powers that be, some that she can bat her eyelashes at think she is a commentator.

Did You know now that she's registed with a Model/Acting agency in Australia.

Alan - yep and I gave him the link that you provided.
He's mulling the size of frame over (he uses a 58cm frame normally).
I think he's worried about it being a 57cm frame (1cm can make the difference).
As soon as I hear anything - I'll let you know.

If you're having a difficulty getting rid of it - I know of a shop that will do a trade-in here in Limerick.

I would like to thank you all for the birthday e-cards I received from the undertaker who takes care of day to day conditions. In the main I was overwhelmed by the generosity of spirit considering that I am half witted. The most amazing one was from my dedicated enemy Basta Ya, who despite the vehemence previously shown has condescended to admit LOL at previous submissions. So arseholes to you, get back on track. At least you had the decency to shake hands.
