Its got 10 rear sprokets, i think the numbers there are the amount of teeth on each sproket. (Ps what does BTW mean?)

When I was a youngster, we were told to use light gears (19-26 on your rear sprocket) and use 39 tooth front ring and simply pedal. Using these gears improves your fitness and the more turns of the pedal per minute you can do, using these gears, the better. (turn the pedals, in cycling, is called revs per minute - RPM - stands for the number of revolutions (turns) of the pedal per minute - so when you see RPM written, you now know what that means). I'll see what Fred C suggests as regards what gears you should use before adding anything further. Like the bike you've got as well - very nice. |
