Why is it always French people that can't even have guns that think they know everything about carrying. Liberals that don't think we should have guns should either move to France and live happily ever after, or come live in my craphole of a city for a year and see how safe they feel.

Liberals that are not liberal when it comes to gun law...

Where did you find French now?

France...Slovenia...

We always have to ask...which part of Europe are you from?

The part whose ass we saved?

Or the part whose ass we kicked?

Twice!

If you mean you, Americans, I can say that you saved our ass consequently by kicking Nazi asses in France. But I would prefer that you would save us directly that we wouldn`t get communism (thanks God the most liberal and non-starvation one if nothing else) for 40 years...

Our apologies!

We were too busy trying to save OURSELVES from liberal socialist bedwetters.

Cornwallis at Yorktown, French Navy? Just who saved whose arses?

The French in WWII, in any case, were saved by the Soviets who managed to kick Hitler's bum just when he wasn't expecting it. No D Day if that hadn't happened.

That is one theory of who did "the most of it" and D Day is another. I think we should go back to the topic...

This is the current folding war bicycle from the Montague Corporation. I bet that something similar was used in France and Slovenia and I don't care who saved whose ass. All that matters is who's ass is next.

Let me shed light on this debate. The problem is simple, guns are not nearly lethal enough. We need to equip everyone with nuclear weapons are thereby guarantee the threat of mutual annihilation.
This scenario has worked for over 60 years, so statistically it is a sound theory.

The French in WWII, in any case, were saved by the Soviets who managed to kick Hitler's bum just when he wasn't expecting it. No D Day if that hadn't happened.

Those Russian bellies were full of AMERICAN food. They flew missions, what few they flew after their Yaks were shot to pieces, with AMERICAN aircraft. Russian T-34's were replaced with AMERICAN tanks. Hell, they are STILL selling us cut up Thompsons we lend-leased to them! Who gave them the damned locomotives to evacuate their crappy arsenals and factories to the East? WE did! AMERICANS did!

Who made the P-40's the Russians flew? WE did!

Who fought at Anzio? WE did!

Who went up Italy killing krauts? We did!

Who's freakin' bomber losses were insanely high long before D-day?

Freaking revisionists!

Yeah, the French helped us out a bit...by going to war against their longtime enemy, England. One of the very few wars they can actually claim to have come out on top...thanks to AMERICANS.

Who manned the Liberty ships that ran the U-boat infested seas? AMERICANS!

Who fought on THREE continents? WE did!

America did nothing less than save the world.

Period.

And pray tell us what the Russians did in WW1. I'm dying to hear all about how the were the reason the United States Marines paid bloody hell in Belleau Wood.

AMERICANS paid for THAT bit of real estate!

You betcha a shitload of Russians died fight Hitler. Why? To gain real estate for Joe Stalin! And it's no wonder even more of them didn't die in their moronic human wave assaults...with only one of three or five or ten men even armed and Checka commissars driving them on with the barrel of Nagant pistols to the backs of their heads.

And you can bet your last goddamn nickel Hitler would have OWNED Russia as slave labor if it weren't for AMERICAN intervention in the war. Hell, France couldn't hold of a troop of German Boy Scouts and England was having no fun with daylight and night bombing practice they were giving fatboy Hermann and his flyboys.

How long do you think Hitler would have taken getting his nuclear arsenal off the blackboard if not for the UNITED STATES?

Revisionists! Bah! Go to Russia. It's where you belong...right there among the world's greatest revisionist historians. Who knows? Maybe you're sufficiently talented enough you can airbrush AMERICA right out of WW2 the same way Uncle Joe had Lavrenti Berea removed from May Day parade pictures.

Here's a picture...you can 'revise' the Communist star off that P-39 and I'll award you extra points if you can erase the hammer and sickle from the instrument panel.

Here you go, comrade. Here's what AMERICANS gave the Russians:

The list below is the amount of war matériel shipped to the Soviet Union through the Lend-Lease program from its beginning until 30 September 1945.

Aircraft 14,795
Tanks 7,056
Jeeps 51,503
Trucks 375,883
Motorcycles 35,170
Tractors 8,071
Guns 8,218
Machine guns 131,633
Explosives 345,735 tons
Building equipment valued $10,910,000
Railroad freight cars 11,155
Locomotives 1,981
Cargo ships 90
Submarine hunters 105
Torpedo boats 197
Ship engines 7,784
Food supplies 4,478,000 tons
Machines and equipment $1,078,965,000
Non-ferrous metals 802,000 tons
Petroleum products 2,670,000 tons
Chemicals 842,000 tons
Cotton 106,893,000 tons
Leather 49,860 tons
Tires 3,786,000
Army boots 15,417,001 pairs

Perhaps you better stick to trying to dissuade folks from carrying a firearm for personal protection while cycling...although I suspect your logic will be equally flawed.

Despite all the tragedy that resulted for the people of Eastern Europe, one of the best things about WWII was that the two most evil empires the world has ever known, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and Germany led by the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nationalsozialistiche Deutsche Arbeiterpartie), beat the crap out of each other.

Patriotism should not obscure the fact that four Nazi soldiers died fighting the Soviets for every one which died fighting the western allies. Democracies don't usually march men into battle at the point of a gun as the Soviets did if they can avoid it. Plus the Nazis never quite made it to the industrial heartland of Britain or the US so it didn't pay for us not to let the reds do much of the fighting.

Soviet losses surely kept them from exporting more communism around the globe after the war.

Of course, the Soviets wouldn't have made it if not for our supplies.

P.S. JFTR the P-39 was used as a fighter, not ground attack! Their second highest ace, Pokryshkin, scored most of his kills in one.

While not the most effective tank buster in the sky (the Colt gun frankly sucked), the Aircobra was used in many roles, as can be expected of a desperate user.

From troop straffing runs to air cover/force protection to soft target penetration to recon, the Iron Dog served the commies well.

"Any port in time of storm!" At least the P-39 enabled the Russians to avoid taking the proverbial knife to a gunfight.
