That's what I thought. When it's 15:00 cet (Central European Time), it's 5:00 in Anchorage Alaska, 10 hours earlier. To translate this for you other Americans out there, when it's 5:00 am in Anchorage, it's 9:00 am on the East Coast.

Just a tip gntlmn , coverage has been often starting 15-30 misn late each day.Eurosport rarely keep to their live schedule for cycling , so if you tune in at 5am your time and get nothing , wait till 5.30am (3.30am CET) and it will defintely be on.
The stages are ending quite late , usually 5.30CET at least , unlike the TdF where they end about 5-5.15 CET.So you will get 2 hours of radio-like commentary each morning! Worth waking up for.

ps: the commentators are aware of a large audience tuning into the audio feed from North America and make sure they cater their comments so you know whats going on.They dont just sit there and expect you to have pictures.

Victim of an early crash during Tuesday's 11th stage of the Vuelta a Espana, Spaniard Alejandro Valverde spent a long and sleepless night after a visit to hospital and will decide during Wednesday's rest day if he is able to continue racing.




Lying in second in the general classification at nine seconds from leader Floyd Landis, the Kelme leader couldn't help but be pessimistic after failing to complete a light training session with his team on Wednesday morning.

Putting his bike aside, Valverde returned to hospital for an MRI on his painful left hip.

The Spaniard decided with his team that he would start Thursday's 12 stage, which finishes on the gruelling, special category Calar de Alto climb, and only continue racing in the Vuelta if he felt capable.

"Alejandro's 100 percent sure to be starting tomorrow, what we don't know is if he is at 100 percent," said Kelme team assistant director Ignacio Labarta. "The checkups on his hip revealed he had nothing serious."

"This afternoon, he'll do an hour's riding on the rollers inside the team hotel, we don't want to take any risks."
