Daily Peloton reports: "Chechu confirmed that his teammate Floyd Landis will be moving to Phonak next season and that Triki Beltrán will be team leader in the Vuelta Espana, a race that he will not participate in."

Wow, that is a brave move from the comfort of USPS/Discovery. Good luck to him and I hope he does more than Heras did in this year's tour. |

He'll be supporting Hamilton, and be no more than on par with Sevilla. So it's not a position of team leadership, I would be pretty sure. Which means that he's going for the salary and possibly for a greater role in the non-TdF Grand Tours. |

It's in Velonews, sorry. You're going to have to find it yourself. |

Yes...one would think such news would be a little more widely reported. I'm assuming it's erroneous information or still unconfirmed.

I usually check on the BBC for such news, or on eurosports.com, or cyclenews.com. |

I was on the Phonak site yesterday and there wasn't anything there either ...so I'm thinking they'd have mentioned it if it was a sure thing.

If he's just interested in the money then he should leave US Postal. If he wants to improve his cycling then another year with Armstrong will benefit him immensely. It is difficult to see Landis as being ready to take the leadership of a team for the TDF as he needs to prove that he can time trial and climb consistently for three weeks. In my opinion, he is not yet approaching the standard of Azevedo yet and riding with him and Lance next year will allow him to develop. As far as cycling performance is concerned then moving teams doesn't always work. Livingstone, Heras and arguably Leipheimer fall in this category. |

Then they are still in talks then or Landis has said he isn't interested and is staying put. This is what I like about the Pro Tour concept, it will give riders a chance to lead teams or make a name for themselves they wouldn't get in cycling's Blue Ribbon event (Tour de France for those who didn't work it out). |
