Which loop is it? The one on the south of the Yarra off the Boulevard or
the North off Yarra Bend Rd?

As you are coming along Johnston St heading east (away from city) and you start to climbing up to the turnoff (on the left) onto the boulevard,
take the turnoff and double back (hardleft) so that you are facing west.
There is a barrier across the road you can see just after turning off.
That barrier is at the hairpin/startline/bottom of hill.
Ignor ethe paint on the road. all racing is done anti-clockwise
(up that sodding hill)
