Riddle me this:

A man works as an accountant on the 24th floor of a high-rise building. On rainy days, he takes the elevator all the way to the 24th floor. However, on sunny days he takes the elevator only to the 12th floor, where he then takes the stairs the rest of the way. WHY?

He is a very short man, who can only reach the 12 button on the elevator. On rainy days he brings an umbrella which he uses to push the 24 th button !

CHO contains 4 kcal of energy and fat 9 kcal. So fat contains 5 kcal more energy than CHO. Yes?

Yes!

Ok, lets keep you guys busy for awhile. Try and work this out:

Who owns the fish? This is the question that Einstein posed last century when he stated that 98% of the population would be unable to solve it. Find out if you are one of the 2% who can...

There are 5 houses in 5 different colors.
In each house lives a person with a different nationality.
These 5 owners drink a certain drink, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet.
No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same drink.

The question is -- WHO OWNS THE FISH?

HINTS:

- the Brit lives in the red house
- the Swede keeps dogs as pets
- the Dane drinks tea
- the green house is on the left of the white house
- the green house owner drinks coffee
- the person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds
- the owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill
- the man living in the house right in the center drinks milk
- the Norwegian lives in the first house
- the man who smokes Marlboro lives next to the one who keeps cats
- the man who keeps horses lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill
- the owner who smokes Bluemaster drinks beer
- the German smokes prince
- the Norwegian lives next to the blue house
- the man who smokes Marlboro has a neighbor who drinks water.

Nope.
Let me add that your answer must contain everyone's pet, drink, brand of smoke etc.
C'mon people, try and work this one out. ;D

Ok here is another one.

There are 3 prisoners that are given a riddle to save their lives. All three of them are facing a wall sitting behind each other with their hands tied behind their backs and are unable to look any other way than to the front of them. The last prisoner can see both his friends in front of him. The middle guy can only see the one guy in front of him and the guy in front can only see the wall. They are told that there are 5 hats, 2 black and 3 white ones of which 3 of these 5 hats will be placed on top of each prisoner's head and the other two will not be revealed. The guy in the middle gets the black hat and the other two gets the white hats. OK, now to save their own lives any one of them must shout out the colour of his own hat to save all of their lives. One of them can definitely after a while shout out the colour of his own hat, who is it?

Hints..

1) All three are equally clever and basically think the same way.
2) The solution is worked out with simple logic. Not something stupid like throwing of his hat to see the colour etc.
3) Time is a factor  ;D

good luck..

PS. If you have done this before and know the answer don't spoil the fun for the others..

Thanks

Hmm, tough one!
K, this is how I went about it.
There are 7 different ways the hats can be arranged:

1 * 2 * 3 * 4 *5 *6 * 7
W *W *W *B *B *B *W *-> Prisoner A (Pa)
W *W *B * B *W W *B *-> Prisoner B (Pb)
W *B * B *W *W B *W *-> Prisoner C (Pc)
----------------------
B * W *W *W W W *W *-> Unrevealed
B * B * W *W B *W *B * -> Unrevealed

Row 7 is what we have been given.
The only instance Pc can answer correctly is if both Pa and Pb were wearing black hats (row 4). Becuase there are only 2 black hats, Pc would have known that he must be wearing a white hat then. So, that eliminates row 4.
Because Pc did not answered immediately, Pa and Pb now know that they can't both be wearing black hats.
Now, if rows 5 or 6 were true, then Pb would know that he is wearing a white hat, because if he was wearing a black hat, Pc would have seen this and popped the answer. Since neither Pb or Pc pop the answer, Pa has deducted that rows 5 and 6 are false.
This eliminates rows 4,5 and 6.
Of the remaining rows, only Pa keeps the same colour hat - which is white.
Prisoner A pops the answer and they all walk free!
