Have you got a better answer, fucktard? I thought not. You're only here to piss on everybody else's parade. -- A: Top-posters. Q: What is the most annoying thing on Usenet? |

Ummm, actually DRS had a valid point. The big hint should be "Equine" Growth Hormone. Now it might be just me but I don't find the thought of taking drugs aimed at a different species particularly appealing, given that different species = different genes = different proteins, enzymes = different response to drugs. "DRS" <drs@remove.this.ihug.com.au> wrote: > So why do so many endurance athletes, especially cyclists, > inject vitamins? That's a good question, when you look at the research. I think it's a combination of things -- partly, it's a bit like shaving legs. Sports peope are always looking for something to give them an edge, and they're extroardinary gullible -- witness the rise of of the supplements industry, making millions by selling stuff that a lot of the time bears little relationship to what's on the label. And supposedly health-obsessed people people time and again buy and eat something purely because someone told them it'll make them go faster. I suspect a lot of doctors get pestered, shrug their shoulders, and figure it won't do any harm. Faith can be an extroadinary thing. Nobel prize winner Linus Pauling's faith in massive doses of vitamin C has never been supported by any serious research, and the man was no fool. > > He's surrounded by doctors and nutritionists. Doctors including people like Michel Ferrari. Armstrong is in a position to surround himself with who he wants to hear, and I presume he does so. If he asks for something, and they think it can't do any harm, do you think they'll say no? Mind you, if you read what Greg LeMond had to say the other day, you might think there's another theory. > What are your qualifications? Probably not a lot better than Lance's, although I have at least studied the basics in areas like biochemistry. -- Shane Stanley |

Eadie wins appeal against drugs case
The Age July 19, 2004 - 9:49PM <http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2004/07/19/1090089098232.html?oneclick=true> Cyclist Sean Eadie is expected to regain his place in the Australian Olympic team after a judge took less than four hours to dismiss drugs allegations against him. Judge Jerrold Cripps of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld Eadie's appeal against the withdrawal of his Games nomination by the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC). Although there are formalities to complete in the next few days, Eadie, the 2002 world sprint champion, seems certain to be on the plane for Athens. |

Cool! Although, after all this, how many of the general public are going to be thinking "drug cheat" when he wins? hippy |

Has there been any plausible reason for those packages being addressed to him? Was it the 'ex-girlfriend? Or perhaps the 'ex-barber' disgruntled at losing shaving business

From The Age today:
Your Say <http://www.theage.com.au/yoursay1/index.html?from=lhsnav> With the Olympics less than a month away, the controversy over athletes allegedly using performance enhancing substances is understandably reaching a crescendo, with Australian cyclist Sean Eadie recently cleared of importing banned drugs. Should athletes just be allowed to use drugs to improve performance? (Click on the link supplied above to add your comments) |
