Scroll down on Lance's web site and you will see the "Tour of Hope" (cancer connection cycling group) all decked out in yellow jerseys. |

I have no problem with a yellow jersey either; it's just the replica leaders jerseys which aggravate me. > Until then I could give a rabid rat's rump about who rags me. And it doesn't look like the TdF leader's jersey either, so there's no problem. -- Dave Kerber Fight spam: remove the ns_ from the return address before replying! Nope; only if it has all the decals and sponsor's logo's. Plain yellow is no problem. -- Dave Kerber Fight spam: remove the ns_ from the return address before replying! Probably because it would be too feminine - thy are fireMEN, after all
(gruff voice implied). But you'll notice that a lot of fire engines are now bright lime-green, which has also been shown to be WAY more visible than red. Having heard from everyone in this thread, I thought I'd chime in with my experiences (not for myself; my jerseys until my club shirt comes in are plain red and plain goldenrod, the latter shade nowhere near TdF yellow). There's a triathlete who rides a lot of local novice races for training (archetypal tri-geek: he can pull like mad, but can't sprint). He wears a full-on yellow jersey complete with Credit Lyonnais branding to every race. I think he gets some gentle mocking for that and is invariably referred to as "Lance" by other riders, but it's nothing he worries about. And really, who cares? If you're riding in Cat 5, well, ride in whatever ridiculous fantasy jersey you want. Yellow jersey fans are no more delusional than ONCE-Eroski full-kit wearers, or anyone else out there. Even I'm "making a statement" with my plain red jersey and plain black shorts: I intend to earn any sponsorship logos on my body the hard-ish way: by joining a sponsored club .-- Ryan Cousineau, rcousine@sfu.ca http://www.sfu.ca/~rcousine/wiredcola/ President, Fabrizio Mazzoleni Fan Club |

It's no different than someone wearing a Peyton Manning jersey to their flag football game. It doesn't mean the guy is trying to impersonate Peyton, and Peyton earned his jersey just as much as Lance earned the Maillot Jaune. IMHO, of course. |

Pink's hot. I get plenty of favourable comments from women when I'm wearing one of my pink jackets. When I first started wearing pink, the effect was noticeable. You do get seen in yellow but pink's different. They stare at you. I figure that when you're wearing pink, people think you're feeble-minded so cut you some extra room. It's amazing really. -- zk |
