Well, it begins with Civil War era divisions, more or less, but the reds subsequently have picked up "new" states like Utah and Alaska, while the blues have acquired the likes of Oregon and Hawaii.

Thanks for the feedback.

I much prefer France though.

My wife wants to go to New York to shop for X-Mas.
I had to drop someone out to the airport this evening - and the Merkins are so desperate for consumers that they're advertising New York shopping weekends for us Irish people, in Shannon Airport.
We had a chat about it on the way back here in the car.

I am trying to persuade her to go to Paris instead.
If she goes to New York - I'll be staying here and pedalling away.
If she decides to go to Paris - I might just tag along.

I've got to be retir'n to me bed now, sure isn't the hour rushin' on.
but there's a song in me heart, that goes like this :

"Wasn't there once a lad called luft - who had strong feelin's for a girl called

Prefer France to what? Did you think I was trying to persuade you to the virtues of, say, Arkansas or Idaho?

There's much to be said for (and against) New York, but it's a long way to go for shopping. As I recall it, there's a significant city a good bit closer to your home. I can't recall the name of it -- I believe it once was home to an empire? And to a large navy of which the populace was justly proud -- but if it's still in operation I'd wager they have nice shopping there too.

Let us not forget the battle of "AGINCOURT" shall we, the Brit's kicked their "Froggy Arses Big Time" there, and they have never forgotten either, and that was almost 600 years ago. Talk about elephants having good memory's?

Apart from that. Yes to all the other post's and also, the hospitality shown by the rural folks, the wonderful scenery, the glorious food, coffee and cakes worth travelling half way round the world for?

The list is endless, and when I too win the Lottery I will buy a piece of France and become a Landlord as well?

The only down side for me, I'm learning another European Language, Ciao!

Keep the wheels in motion, and don't look back, unless it's to see who you dropped on that last climb? TBC

That is most certainly on its way out... It hasn't helped the economy like projected, and many people want it repealed. Look what's happening in Germany - the unions are accepting more hours.

I wouldn't bother replying to BlottoTragic he's as thick as a railway sleeper. Just keep your 2 hour lunch-breaks intact. C'est sacre, keep civilisation going. A bientot.

I use to take 2 hour lunch breaks

Really ticked my coworkers off. But one supervisor wanted me to stay late and the other wanted me in on time. And neither wanted me earning over time

Sad that the Germans are working more hours

FredC when you insult me I just think it might be projection
