i am 26, new to road biking. but have 3 years of serious mountain biking experience. my highest ever (all out running sprint after an hour of hard running) was 202. my highest on an eliptical machine was 198. on a bike i dont know, maybe around 200. on the eliptical, i held it there for about 30 seconds. after that my muscle were so full of lactate that i felt woozy and "drunk". my lowest (RHR) is 50 and my ambient (which is in the evening before bedtime after 5-10 minutes relaxing) is about 60. |

[QUOTE=Velvet]So far I've seen mine peak at 196 (I'm 32, iirc - spent too many years claiming '21 again this year' LOL)[QUOTE]
LOL. Same here. Mine was at about 195 yesterday and I thought I was going to die. I'm actually concerned that I'm somehow hurting myself. |

[Hi! First time posting here...]
My maximum heart rate is 210 bpm, and I've seen it sit on 205-208 for at least 2 minutes during a pursuit effort on the track. My resting HR is 48 bpm. I'm 24. Recently I had to have a stack of heart related medical tests done (for a non-cycling related incident which turned out to be nothing) and the cardiologist nearly keeled over when I told him I'd watched my HR sit at 208 bpm. Needless to say he was old and podgy and almost lost his breath just getting up off his chair |
