It was my mistake that we had been getting along. I guess the honeymoon is over....

Regarding your expertise on the "muslim" mind...I admit, I am not keenly aware of every aspect of that faith or their beliefs...However, if you read any of my postings, I do not condone nor agree with actual...torture...

I am not a barbarian but war is war...it ain't pretty!

P.S. I could care less what your faith is...it's none of my business. but by the way, neither am I....

You're disingenuous.
That's the bottom line here.

No point in my holding any further discussions with you.

Your disingenousness prevents any meaningful dialogue.

I can't believe that anyone out there has the opinion that any one person has the ability to control world economics or any of the other varied conditions you are referring to. Not George Bush, not Kerry not George Washington. In this country alone there are 250 million or so that also have influence. What they buy or don't,what they eat ,what they watch onTV or read in a book.
Of course it is always easier to place blame. I am not saying the president of the US doesn't have more influnce than most, but he doesn't have control. Nobody does or ever will. What did you do for the world today?

-- A video posted Tuesday on an Islamic militant Web site showed the beheading of an American civilian in Iraq, and said the execution was carried out by an al-Qaida affiliated group to avenge the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by American soldiers.

The video showed five men wearing headscarves and black ski masks, standing over a bound man in an orange jumpsuit - similar to a prisoner's uniform - who identified himself as Nick Berg, a U.S. contractor whose body was found on a highway overpass in Baghdad on Saturday.

"My name is Nick Berg, my father's name is Michael, my mother's name is Susan," the man said on the video. "I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah. I live in ... Philadelphia."

After reading a statement, the men were seen pulling the man to his side and putting a large knife to his neck. A scream sounded as the men cut his head off, shouting "Allahu Akbar!" - "God is great." They then held the head out before the camera.

May God have mercy on his soul.

Let's be truthful here...The real reason in holding any further discussions is in light of what just happend to one of our civilians, your argument of how horrible the Iraqi prison abuse was has lost it's punch.......

I'm sorry you feel that way though...

The news of this terrible murder has only just broken here in Europe.

I posted my message about your disingenousness at 1.31pm.
You posted your news about this execution at 1.32pm.

TRY READING THE MESSAGES BEFORE ONCE AGAIN MAKING FALSE
ACCUSATIONS AGAINST THOSE WHO OPPOSE YOUR VIEW.

You are disingenuous - even to the extent of using the terrible news of this execution to try to score a point off me.
1.31pm
1.32pm
Proof, if proof were ever needed.

At 12.07pm : I stated that I think that you are disingenuous.

At 1.31pm : I further stated that you were disingenuous

At 1.32pm : you posted the information about the execution.

At 1.43pm : you state and I quote "On the contrary, the bottom line here is you fail to see anyones point of view but your own. You give no merit to anyone who disagrees with you and you value stats and clippings over personal experiences...

I did not back down from this argument - as you suggest at 1.43pm.
You're making false accusations again.

I think you're disingenuous.

Does anyone remember the lyrics to that song: And it's 1,2,3,4, what are we fighting for... ? Don't care I don't give a damn, next stop is Vietnam. And it's 5,6,7,8 open up the pearly gates. Ain't no time to wonder why, i think we're all gonna' die.... Country Joe and the Fish. Song keeps coming to my mind whenever I think of Iraq.

I’ve already used my crazy man analogy in another thread but here’s another analogy.

Have you ever seen those really annoying dogs that bark almost constantly for no apparent reason? Their owners yell at them, clamp their mouths, even try to reason with them. But still the dog keeps barking. Well, the dog keeps barking because by barking, it gets what it wants: ATTENTION. As Dr. Phil would say, it gets a “payoff”from its negative behavior. And so, the dog KEEPS BARKING and annoying everyone around it.

Now, you can certainly de-bark the dog or use a bark collar but this is not always possible. Any obedience trainer will tell you the best way to quiet a barking dog is to IGNORE IT.

See what I’m saying?

As a Magnetic Northerner, I am not able to vote in US elections but I would certainly vote for Kerry simply because there is not much alternative. Nader has integrity and good intentions but doesn't have experience or political breadth to be president.

What absolutely blows me away is that even after the last month where all of the following has happened:
1) Richard Clarke's book
2) 9/11 hearings
3) Iraqi prisoner photos
4) Rumsfeld under attack
5) Deadliest month in Iraq

...that still Bush leads Kerry in most of the polls I have seen. If this kind of stuff can't de-throne Bush, then there is no way Kerry can beat him in the election.

Unfortunately I think we are looking at another 4 years with the Shrub.

Even tho I think people should vote for Kerry ( who I don't particularly care for), frankly I think the Democratic party sucks. They rolled over for Bush after 9/11 and didn't do their job as the "opposition party" to keep the administration's power in check. Wasn't Howard Dean the only Dem nominee to have opposed the Iraq war at the time? I mean, that is just unbelievable! If it wasn't for Ted Kennedy who I lurrrve, I would hate the democratic party entirely. How the party hasn't kicked out Lieberman is beyond me. His values and politics are so out of sinc with most liberals.

The Dems have lost their way. I am convinced that party insiders conspired to destroy Howard Dean in the primaries. And not just because he was the frontrunner. They conspired against him because he wasn't an insider and his views were too liberal. So they screwed him over while using his views as a way to gain credibility with true liberals.

The dems suck. They suck hard. But they still suck less than the Republicans.

Babbar:

I think Beastt knows that Mussolini, Himmler, Stalin, Mao Tse-Tung AND Charles Manson are dead.

It seems to me that you didn’t know that, but that it’s not surprise.

Please, if you want to argue and make your point, do it with a little of intelligence and integrity, it’s that much to ask?.
