View Full Version : France to Italy
Hi, I'm thinking of visiting a friend in Turin around Easter. I want to cycle there from England.
Looking at the map, getting to Chambery or Grenoble is no problem, but i'm not sure of the best way from there. I know little about the mountain passes from France to Italy, except that they may well be shut at that time of year.
If necessary, I can take the train. Any suggestions about the best way?

Hi! Why not pass by the Jura mountains (Dijon and head towards Lausanne,CH) the head up through Valais in the direction of Verbier and take either Grand St Bernard or Simplon Passes.
Depending on the dates I might be able to do a day with you !!

Thanks.
I guess that that is a good alternative. The question is whether these would be open at that time of year...
However, it is probably somewhat academic as i think i'm going to have to postpone, probably until May or June, due to work.
