Ive been doing a little research of late and was passed some great info relating to power training. I refer to the training manual called 'Training with Power' written by Joe Friel.

The manual details all types of power training on the bike and includes several workouts which target specific power training. It also looks at combining power and heart rate training.

You may have already discovered this manual but for those that havnt give it a go, its a good read.

Has anyone been training using power cranks/hubs instead of a Heart Rate monitor to measure intensity?  How have you found it? Has your training improved?  Was the equipment worth the cost? Have your performances improved?
