VN: Evans said he attacked when he saw you suffering a little bit, how
was it up the final part of the climb?

LL: I don’t understand what Cadel was doing. People who win the Tour
de France don’t race like that. He was just doing Alejandro’s job for
him. Now he has second instead of third. You have to race to win and
he wasn’t obviously doing that. I was clawing my way back at my own
pace and I was close, but with about one kilometer from the summit,
Cadel started to pull those guys. I just exploded a little bit and I
think I lost about 30 seconds there. The Joux-Plane kind of rolls
across the top and there’s another uphill section after the King of
the Mountain banner. They had a little group going and I could see
Szmyd attacking. It’s always easier in a group than going alone. By
the time I hit the descent, I couldn’t see them anymore. I was going
pretty fast, but when you’re by yourself on the descent, it’s
different. I don’t know who was leading in that group, but Zubeldia
and Valverde can really descend fast.

Ummm, okay.

Jeg kan ikke forstå hva Cadel gjorde. Folk som vinner Tour
de France ikke rase liker det. Han var bare gjør Alejandro jobb for
ham. Nå har han andre i stedet for en tredjedel. Du har to race for å
vinne og
han var ikke åpenbart gjør det. Jeg var clawing vei tilbake på min
egen

He's frustrated, seeing 2nd place slip away. He didn't like Cadel
towing Valverde up the mountain, wanted him to attack Valverde instead
of him (Leipheimer). It's a fine distinction, seems to me that moving
from 3rd to 2nd is a good move, and Cadel says he can't beat Valverde
anyway. At 34, Levi doesn't have a lot of time left to race at this
level. No shame in that, it's just reality and he's had a hell of a
run.

After I retire, which is anytime now, I'm going to be a DS and you
will be able to hear me complaining this way live during the race.

1). No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.
2). No, but I had a Norwegian girlfriend from Bergen. Maybe she knows
your relatives? Is a relative?
3). No, Google's language tools take the credit.

Two of the three are true.

When I read that with a refugee's accent, that actually made some

I make it a point never to try to understand the words in songs.
Especially from those newer wrapper bands.

It was very interesting to see the biggest band in the world get into
a station wagon to leave the stadium. What did the smaller bands use
for getaway vehicles - bicycles?

Since being denied the Tour de France, he was focusing his season on
winning the Dauphine, but that fell through after the invitation to
the Giro and Contador's performance there. Now he's just venting.
