Curious...What makes you "one of the cleanest riders around"? Either you're clean or not clean. You either dope or you don't.

I wonder how Wiggins knows these things. Do riders just walk up to him and say "I'm doping" or "I'm clean". By stating someone is "clean" but not including others implies they are dirty. I don't think he's qualified to make either statement.
agree. someone should call him on it.

I don't think he's qualified to make either statement.I agree also. His choice of words implies that everyone is dirty on some level... but Hayles is one of the "cleanest" ones of the dirty lot. It might have just been a poor choice of words... but it could have been a Freudian slip as well.

Actually... I'm trying to rephrase it how he probably should have said it... and it's difficult... so maybe it was just a clumsy articulation.

It's a fast track... :rolleyes:
well, fast tracks and fast cnditions can make up to 5 seconds difference on a 4 km team pursuit.

colder = slower.

longer straights as proportion of the track distance = faster

good banking for the tt events = faster

older boards = faster

resanded = faster

indoor heating = faster

333.3 m > 250 m > 200 m

He might have meant that Hayles was one of the people who he least expected to be doping or something like that?

Or maybe he just meant that Hayles was the sort of guy who always washed his training kit after one use?:rolleyes:

If you have been racing as long as Wiggins, and see your fellow countryman all the freeking time, recall England is about the size of Rhode Island or some small insignificant puny state, and you see him at races and at training and you have since he's a junior rider...you get a sense of how he and the rest of the field have progressed as riders and whether someone has taken a huge jump or leap.

His beef against Vino was obvious--Vino turned positive. But Wiggins had also been doing the power training things for a long time and did the calculations and knew Vino could not have ridden with that power in the TdF ITT based on Vino's past performances and based on what Wiggins KNEW his own power output to have been. Nice he didnt say anything about Cancellara but we know he was thinking it.

It doesnt mean Wiggins is 100% right, but in a small country, small sport, frequent meetings over the years, you know.

Who can tell me what is wrong with this article on the persuit ???

No correct answers yet.

Here it is

"In the always-tragic ride for third (tragic because one rider goes home with nothing), the unheralded New Zealand rider fell to the stronger Soviet, Markov. Both rides were decisive."

What are these people on, the Soviet Union has not existed for almost 20 years!

they harden. Anectdotal.

warm conditions make the wood expand so less friction from very small gaps in the wood.
