Lennard Zinn came in yesterday with something interesting..Centaur levers, Sram Force front and rear derailleurs and Sram 10s cogset, shimano chain and it shifted..just fine. So it appears Campag ERGO(including 2007/8 Centaur and below) shifts shimano/sram 10s spacing with a Rival/Force/Red RD..The 'limited' left Centaur shifter seemed to shift the Force FD fine also, with less effort than Sram...

Was the rear derailleur cable hooked up "normally" OR at 9 o'clock (i.e., akin to Shimano's alternate anchor position)?

Regardless, it just proves that the 10-speed Campagnolo ERGO shifters may be the "perfect" shifters because they are apparently universally compatible with ALL indexed drivetrains!

how does this work when sram has a different cable pull requirement to shimano and campy, and because of spacing and rear geometry shimano and campy don't work together.

front is easy, campy have the best design here, works with anything.

rear the brifter would pull too much cable surely!

And, my previous reckoning was that the 10-speed Campagnolo shifter should be able to mate with a 10-speed Shimano shifter to index with a 10-speed Shimano cassette IF the rear derailleur cable were hooked up using the hubbub.com alternate anchor position which was originally described to allow a 10-speed Campagnolo shifter to mate with a 9-speed Shimano rear derailleur & cassette.

So, based on Zinn's demonstration, I presume that the attachment point for the SRAM rear derailleur, directly-or-modified, equates to the 10-speed Shimano rear derailleur with the hubbub.com attachment.

Actually, for Sram, it goes around a l;ittle ramp and then on top of the fixing bolt. Cable hooked normally.

Don't call me Shirley(teeny joke)..saw the bike shifted it and it worked fine. Don't know why but there has always been lots more intercompatibility than the manufacturers let on or even know.
