Hey All.
Alright, here's my story. So I ordered my first roadbike about a week and a half ago from a LBS. Really nice guy, referred to me by a friend and trainer. Raleigh Sport, 53cm. Man was I excited. I get a call yesterday, thinking my bike had come in. Finally, I can hit the open road! Just my luck- Something's gone wrong with the shipping. They don't know when they'll be getting any more of my model in.

So now what do I do? My dealer/LBS said he's trying to do some research but I'm starting to lose faith :(

Any other good entry level roadbikes, $400-$600, for a 5'4 1/2, 122lb. gal?

The Raleigh Grand Sport isn't any more than $700 and is a step up. See if your LBS can still get an Intrigue 1.0. It's a women's specific road bike by Raleigh. It's a 2007 model.

I'm 5'9" and one of the bikes I ride has a 52cm (c-c) frame [~54cm top tube + 120mm stem].

If you have LONG legs & a SHORT torso, then you may be one of the few women who would actually benefit from a WSD (as Trek refers to it -- Women's Specific Design, or some-such) bike as suggested by dbackmtg.
