wondering if anyone has any experience with the sram force components? specifically, the crankset? also, does anyone know how to acurately measure crankarm length? i'm not sure from where to where to get the proper matchup to the set i have now.

The crank arm length is measured in millimeters from the center of the Bottom Bracket spindle (hole) to the center of the Pedal spindle (hole) -- e.g., 170 -- you can choose/get/use any crank which fits your budget & aesthetic sensibilities OR continue to use your old crank.

BTW. I can't speak to the FORCE cranks, specifically, but now that 'I' am replying, others (presumably, SRAM aficionados) will certainly provide you with specifics ...

My understanding is that the FORCE & RIVAL use the odd-ball GXP bottom bracket (25mm BB size on the drive side & 24mm on the non-drive side) -- an interesting idea -- whereas the RED uses 25mm (the Campagnolo Ultra Torque "standard") bearing cups ... a better idea as far as marketing & readily available (i.e., convenient) long term serviceability (i.e., compatible parts availability).
