Yes, and he quit doping while those around him persisted. We will never know who was the best of that generation because of dope.+1... he's 27.

so, about a year younger than Danny Pate or the same age.

Pate won the world tt in the espoirs, admittedly, there are about 40 odd Div 1 pros who are not eligible to ride in the u23 worlds.

But look at Pate, must be elite of the elite, wrt natural engine. Did not dope. Where did he get to? Mediocre US career. Now Protour, but is not likely to make a roster for a GT unless there is a TTT.

Fact is, he could have signed a PT contract for the past two years based on performances in Europe and here.

With the UCI code USA19770405, he should be 30, soon 31?

I got the same e-mail.

Decanio recently won the biggest road race in Florida, soloing away from a break of nine that included seven pro riders, so he's got the talent. He's really obsessed with doping issue and he's sacrificed his cycling career for it.

On his web site, after he won that race, the headline read: I went so fast even the dopers thought I was doping. It was an accurate headline. There are many doped cyclists in South Florida and they did think he was doped after the race.

Seems more like he's obsessed with himself. Saying that Lemond can't hire him because of his bike line and Armstrong's pressure... Lemond has given Armstrong plenty of reasons to not like him, hiring Decanio is way down the list.

He's right about the dope, of course. A pity the message is getting lost in this 'the whole world revolves around me' presentation.

I just read on his site that he went to Appalachian St. I knew there was a reason I liked the guy. I graduated in '90, and he obviously is good people.
