4 Years here - post 1020 !
Well, I was gonna celebrate post 1000 by posting a pic of me here, and I guess you people wonder what I look like! But since post 1000 slipped by, oh well, - no more. And then some of you people know bad stuff about me like my unfortunate felony but luck getting SSDI and Medicare. So I guess I should remain anonymous! But you can see me in drag! Yeah, that would be a good disguise! Yeah, actually I do need a good disguise, like me as a woman - to get away from cops that are chasing me if that'll ever happen again. And they did seriously search for me back in 2001 after I unfortunately punched a senior citizen (I went paranoid). So you wanna see me dressed as a chick?

Ok, 4 years here. 1st year - biked 2018 miles went from 205 to 159 lbs, hit a top speed of 32.9 mph, - my highest ever - goal that year was to lose weight to 165 lbs to join the Air Force and to see my highest top speed. 2nd year, biked 3018 miles to go from 165 to 139 lbs - main goal was to increase my avg speed by being lightweight, and to get a six pack from getting ultra lean. But it was futile as I reach a weight plateau of 142 lbs - 12% body fat - no six pack / increased mileage didn't result in much further weight loss so I just accept a weight range of 142 to 146 lbs now and keep it there. Year 3 (2006) just biked 1686 miles to maintain my weight and save gas. Year 4 (2007) biked 1055 miles just to maintain my weight and save gas.

In 4 years I accumulated 7 road bikes! I'll post a thread in the future showing off my entire $26,000 bike collection! But now I tell myself to be happy and not buy anymore bikes, unless I win the Lotto! But there is just one more bike I truly desire - an 80's old school vintage Hutch Trickstar with good retro parts! And I want Stronglight Pulsion Compact cranks on my best commuter bike - a 2007 Trek Pilot 2.1 spa (with a Polar Powermeter, ceramic bearing Ksyrium Sls, 2 Jandd panniers). But after riding a totally decked out CF Soloist and getting pathetic avg speed on a workout - because I don't train / ride much - I'd say it's more bling to get that awesome crank!

Well, this was the first forum I've ever joined, but now I've joined a lot of other forums and my time is so split up. And now I've become a biker less but use biking for same reasons as years 3 & 4. And I've noticed some members just don't post here anymore - I guess they quit biking! But I'll never quit biking, I'll just bike less. And I was burned out last year, and the bad weather gave me pathetic miles. But if I did quit biking - oh my God my $26,000 bike collection would seem like a waste and I wouldn't recouperate my money by ebaying my bikes. So I'm stuck now with a big bike collection, and I actually don't sell some of my bikes because of poor resale. So I tell myself now, - no more spending on bikes! I recently spurged on good stuff recently, like a Polka Dot Giro Atmos Helmut and a Light & Motion Arc Ultra ($450 ebay).

I'm really glad I posted this famous thread - a sticky!

And then my career has improved a lot from a guy living on SSDI to my current best job working on the Space Shuttle! I just wish I could be a strong skilled Mechanical Engineer and work as one, but my current Proe CAD Designer Detailer job pays as good or better than a 5 year experienced ME Job in Chicago, - so I'm very happy!

The only thing missing from my life is women, but I'm not good at dating them. I guess I should try...

Well, I wanted this to be post 1000! Missed it by 20! And I just had to rant about 4 years here.

Any comments?

1020 posts. That's a month's work..:p

JT. I'm certainly no dating champion but perhaps try this on your dates. Don't talk about your bikes. Or how many miles you've done. Or your sticky CF post. Or your great job. Or the great way you've set up your home sound system. Or the mileage you get from your car. Or how much money you make. Or the price of anything you own. Unless your date asks you...and then keep it brief. ;)

Find out about your date, JT...what makes her tick. And be sincere about it. :)

Congratulations! I like milestones. :)

I should reach 1,000 in about the same time.
Over on Bikeforums.net in roughly the same 2 years I have been registered here, I have just over 3,500 messages.

Between the two, I obviously need to get a life!

Ok, thanks for the replies. I guess 1020 posts in 4 years isn't much, and I did that on another forum in 1.5 years.

It's not the amount of posts. It the amount of irritation to others that can be inflicted with each post. :D

I think the only irritation I've given was bragging about stuff like my $26,000 bike collection or my $65,000 a year salary...

Disagreeing with people is just the nature of forum talk.
