Yet many more innocent, non-violent Muslims are killed by the armed
forces of Israel and the United States, compared to those killed by
"Muslim" terrorists. And the actions of the former are driven primarily
by religious fundamentalism.

Ed, I see that you remain an ignorant idiot. Perhaps you haven't
noticed that much of the Middle East practically is in the Stone Age
now. That would be part of the problem. Your stupidity also prevents
you from seeing that nuking the Middle East would result in your own
death or at least your own horrible suffering. What an embarrassing
moron you are.

Which "former?" The Israelis, the United Statians or the Islamic
terrorists? All are currently driven by religious fundamentalism (read:
militancy) to a greater or lesser degree.

The armed forces of the two nations. The militant Zionists believe that
they have the right to take the land from the Nile to the Euphrates by
force, based on a collection of old texts written by MEN. The
fundamentalists in the US believe that they can bring on the Second
Coming by clearing Transjordan of Arabs (freeing the way for the
re-creation of the biblical Jewish state and Temple); and destroying
Iraq as a country will further that goal.

While there are a handful of religious nuts that actually believe the
nonsense (theologically and otherwise) spouted by a few radicals in the
Middle East, most of their support is actually from the desire to
prevent western interference. Support for bin Laden and his ilk is based
on the notion [1] that they are the only ones who will stand up to
western neo-imperialism.

[1] Though one must wonder at times if bin Laden and al Qaeda are
actually on the payroll of the covert services of a foreign government,
and not an independent NGO.

Suicide is, uh, somewhat self-limiting. :)
