Tubes!!!

I'm some what new to mountain bikes. I rode freestyle bmx for a long time. Now I'm an old man and the wife and I go mountian biking. I am having a problem with tubes. No matter what bike I ride, mine or the wifes, if I drop anything the tube pops. . Things as little as dropping from a curb will pop my tubes. I checked and there is nothing from the tire or rim thats popping them. I also fill the tubes with green slime so it should fix minor holes when they happen, normally its a good size hole. Is there any advice anyone can give on tubes. Is there certain brands that I should stay away from. I had this problem when I was riding bmx but I thought it was from hard landings from decent drops. But even then it wasn't as bad as now. lol I do weigh about 20 lbs more than I did back then but I dont think that should be a factor. Oh well any help would be awesome.

yeah i'm not checking it everytime. Will not having enough pressure cause them to pop easier? I would keep my bmx bike at 62 lbs whenever I rode but with the mountain bike I didn't think I would need to keep on it like that since i'm not having a lot of impact on it. Other than tire pressure, i'll start to pay attention to that, is there anything else that I should start looking at? thanks for the reply's

The tyre will have the pressure range on the sidewall.

Next time you have a tyre off, remove the rim tapes and check for nicks or holes.

This may be obvious, sorry for that: did you look for some kind of damage to the inside of the tyre or something still stuck in the tyre?

Punctures caused by too low pressure are called snake bite. You usually get two holes because the tube is pierced by the rim.

It shouldn't happen that you get a puncture from a curb drop (unless your curb is more than a couple of feet off the road:D ). I'm 96kg and ride 2.2 bar on Schwalbe Nobby Nic tyres. A drop off road of 1-2 feet is fairly standard without any need to change tyre pressures.

As the drops get higher around 3-4 feet you need increased pressure/tubeless/good landing technique to avoid material damage.
