Police bike patrol in your area....

Hey guys,in your area what bicycles do police use ?,here in Edmonton-Canada they use Trek Police,a version made for police use,i was told by a cop it's the same as 6700 or 7300 (hardtail).Then after 6 months of use you can buy them for like $ 600 cnd,and over the "Police" sticker they (bike shop) slap a Trek sticker and now they are "TrekIce" the word "ice" is what still shows from...police,interesting ,just don't try to actually find the "ice Trek" model...

In my country (Philippines) They use those cheap crappy bikes intended for mass production. Riders Dont even know how to ride them. They just hang around in some doughnut shop.
But lately I havent seen any, I think They are all Broken and useless.

I think somebody in the States wrote that cops in his/her zone use Diamondback brand bikes,i'm just curios...

they used diamond backs here (Maine, usa) for quite a few years, but I think they ride some trek model now. (only caught a glimpse of the name, don't know what model)

NYPD used to use Raleigh M50 exclusively. They then switched to Trek 4300s, now I see a variety, not really any particular one, and they seem to be ****tier that the older ones.

In VA it's Cannondale

Here in Perth Australia they use crappy Merida's.

Can you chaps imagine what kind of mtbs the buzzies use here in Bangkok? That's if they sober enough to ride em'. Police on bikes..it must be joke right?

I hope more people will post on this,Martystan...look at the bright side...if cops are drunk...nevermind,how can they uphold the law if they are "hammered"...?

When I was in the bike shop an officer on "bike patrol" rode in on a Trek so I'm assuming that's the mtb of choice in the police force around here.

Maybe trek gave a good deal with the local gov't and sold bikes for a cheap price:) you know like wholesale:)
