preload adjustment
I'm a newbie when it comes to mountain bikes so this might be a very simple question. To adjust the preload on a fork do you turn the adjuster toward the "minus" for more preload or the "plus".
For more preload you turn the adjuster clockwise (towards the +). This will reduce the sag which is simply the amount the forks compress when you are sitting on the bike (feet on pedals in normal riding position).
You should aim at around 20% of the total travel give or take 5% depending on riding style and conditions.
I have 100mm travel forks and I have the sag set to 20mm.
