Distance/Routes - KM's Calculation
I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any software/online websites that can be used to calculate the distance of any particular route.
I can't afford a GPS system.
I am riding x4 times during the week in the morning before work and looking to set-up 4 different routes/circuits of around 20-30kms each and wanting to use maps of Melbourne Metro to create these routes.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Buy a $20 [less I think] computer from Big W / Kmart. You can get a reasonable one from LBS for $50-$60.

Google Earth allows one to chart a route and then measure its length.

Once you have a route, select 'elevation profile' under the show menu to give you an idea of how tough / easy your new route will be.

Yeah totally agree now. I've been playing around with it - it's exactly what I was looking for - great tool - and even found some other submitted routes that I wanna check out.
