Canadian Touring Bikes

Has anyone any thoughts on the Canadian made touring bicycles, DeVinci Destination, DeVinci Caribou, Opus Legato or Opus Largo.

DeVinci and Opus do not seem to get much riding in the USA. Maybe another post when it gets a little warmer will get you responses from your Canadian tourers.

Wow! What a tour/pictures/documentation.
Sorry I forgot about Marinoni tourismo. There are a couple of versions as I remember one with longer chain stays. The things I wonder about with this brand is the use of aluminum or carbon fiber forks.... and one model has disc brakes. Since you used them it would be informative regarding heel clearance, fork "feedback", and which brakes you used... and what you thought of them.

Melissa has an older model ~ 2001, mine is a 2005 c/w disc brakes, & aluminum forks. Mel is 6', I am 6'1" and 195 at the time of our tour. We have no complaints about the performance, plenty of clearance, smooth ride (even on NZ famous 'paved" roads). Mel puts about 15,000 km per year, I do 5,000 kpy. Very happy with the bikes durability and handling.

I know nothing about the indicated bikes and will not buy one for touring - just because of my size (I am 194 cm) and mass/weight (215 kg).

I had a touring bike built with 48 spoke, 26" wheels that is an incredibly strong bicycle. Mind you it weights 40 pounds..

Arvon Stacey in Tofield Alberta built it and it performed really well while touring outback Australia. The wheels are really strong too....
