it snowed today in jersey, around two inches of fine powder. as i DROVE to work, i could not help but notice the squiggly, back and fourth tire marks in the shoulder of the road where some brazen fool braved morning rush hour traffic on congested (normally 50 mph roads). the tracks swerved around small snowdrifts, overlapped with overspray from salt trucks, and on a few hills the evidence of the back tire losing all traction was followed by footprints alongside the tiretracks for a half mile at times. after a few miles i never did catch up to the cyclist responsible for this ledger in the snow, but i felt unworthy nontheless after a 5:45 am spin class driving a truck to work that in fair weather would be a proper bicycle.

Heavy snow in London today, and I saw one cyclist wearing what appeared to be a pair of swimming trunks.

Well it wasnt me!! I had three layers on this morning and only hands and feet suffered once booties and gloves got breached by some pretty cold standing water. Toughest part was the spray off the trucks... think I will be happy with my decision when public transport eventually breaks at some stage today stranding everyone in the city!!
