First time on velodrome
I just wanted to share my first time on the track with all of you. I did one of those early morning beginner sessions; brought pedals, shoes, and helmet.
Even though it was an outdoor velodrome, those banks were a LOT steeper than I was expecting and I have to admit I was intimidated. After a brief talk about what all the lines were and some etiquette, we started a 40 lap warmup. I was surprised how comfortable it felt going around the banked turns and such. It started out great, but then I got dropped like a bad habit and I had no idea what I got myself into.
Then we moved on to do team pursuit, handicap races, italian pursuit, and australian pursuit. My heart was feeling good and not too winded, but geez, my legs were completely shot and I am proud to say that I am completely hooked! I can't wait to get back to the velodrome!

Well done. It's a great side of the sport.
We have our Regional Champs here in Christchurch. I am riding the Masters Pursuit and have a group of young (U15s) riders riding their first champs. Like you they are all new to the sport and are loving it!
All the best.

I have a velodrome 2km far away from my home, but it's always closed... Anyway I tried it :D
Wonderful! Even if its banks are almost "flat"...
