Dvd Question
Hi. I just received a dvd of the 1989 Tour de France from WCP. I love the race footage but noticed a little picture/sound breakup at about 3:20 (just as Lemond is crossing the finish line in the prologue). I was wondering if anyone out there has the same dvd. I'm wondering if it's on all of them or just my copy. Thanks in advance. p.s. this is my first post, so I hope it's in the right category.

I wouldn't know where to post this question either.

I happened to have the 89 Tour DVD in the player at home. Sure enough, at 3:20, there is a flicker. All the shots are fed from TV cameras so there's bound to be some interference. The later DVDs leave that stuff in which is sort of annoying.

as an aside, I think you'd get more reaction if you posted the title of the DVD ("question on 89 Tour DVD"). Otherwise your post looks suspiciously like spam.

hope this helps

Thanks a lot Carpe! Yes, the interference is a little annoying but I'm just happy to know it's not a dvd defect.

I also appreciate the posting hint ----knowledge I can use for future posts. This seems like a great forum with a lot of useful information. I'm glad to be joining you guys.

Take care.

Yep, you can expect some small interruptions in most road cycling movies out there. The majority of the filming is done via a camera man on a motorcycle or car, so it just ends up where you get a lot of the clutter that you wouldn't normally receive in an easier to film segment.

Thanks Savage. I appreciate your help. I'm probably going to be ordering more race dvds. I love the old race footage.

The only problem is that now when I'm hurting during a training ride, I keep hearing Phil Ligget's voice in my head!:)

I have a lot of older cycling coverage, most of it from the 80's.. Lots of Paris Roubaix, Coors classic, worlds and TDF coverage.. None of this is wcp or famous videos.. It is live or network coverage that has been edited.. PM for full list..
