Skewer advice
I just built up a new wheelset for my Giant NRS C2 full suspension mountain bike... Mavic XC717, DT Swiss revolution spokes & nipples, and Hope Pro II disc hubs. Now, I want to go with some lightweight skewers and I have been considering Salsa or Hope skewers, but I have also seen some Control Tech titanium skewers which would be half of the weight of either of the other two I mentioned. Control Tech says you can use on Mtn. bikes but will they work with full suspension and are there any concerns I should know about? I weigh about 185 and ride exclusively cross country.
Thanks!
ti skewers on an NRS would be just fine -- control tech is a known brand, and the purpose of the skewer is to hold the wheel in the dropouts. the only caveat i have about ti skewers is from a bud who bent his -- but he likes air, and lots of it. (funny, though -- he won't fly his epic!)
