Junior Running Out Of Time

Since 2001, over 90,000 cyclist's have joined Cycling Forums to discuss topics from general cycling to equipment, training, racing and travel or vacation destinations (especially in europe during the tour de france). We also feature an great deals in our online store, 100's of articles, classifieds and product reviews.

Seems like the electorate have woken up to the fact the Iraq War ain't working. It's a pity the U.S. didn't listen to the French and the Germans months ago when they were warned against the planned invasion.
The trouble is Bush would have lost votes from people who supported the war or maybe still do support the war but can see Bush doesn't really have much of a clue as to how to conduct a military campaign.
It was obvious from day one this was going to fail. The invasion literally left former members of the Iraqi army unemployed, penniless and discriminated against by the Kurds and Shia. Little wonder the insurgency grew and grew.
Still, this is basically hot air. The fact is people know the Iraq War is a quagmire with U.S. troops acting as policemen in a hostile country. Bush appears to be running out of time but at least it's good to see him being removed by democtratic process.

1.......We have the family values group that is typically right wing.
2.......We have the liberals who represent the gays, abortionists and the
"welfare to the crib" mindset.
3........Then we have Americans who just want the best for their family.
It was this group that wanted change.

Americans connected the high price of oil to the war. America got to see the danger of an total domination of a single party. And Bush represents oil. High gas prices are what bugs the average voter. We saw prices like never before, and then the news the oil companies had all time profits. That pissed off Americans.Myself included.
American people give a rats ass about the war in Iraq. They could care less that Saddam was torturing his own people. And Americans do not want their boys dying to give an Iraqi his freedom. Americans want oil, and cheap oil. Bush did not deliver and this hurt his co-party friends out in America. We might not have seen this sweep if Bush made the Rumsfield change before today.

I write to a female friend in North Carolina. Seeing as we get on quite well, we seldom discuss politics. How she votes, I suppose, is her business and I wouldn't seek to impose my views. For the record, we disagreed over Iraq and the war situation.
One thing I can say, though, is what really upset her about Bush and clearly it really troubled her. This was the sight of thousands of Americans abandoned in Louisiana and her country seemingly humiliated by those images. I believe it hurt her pride a good deal and, I suppose, made her feel disgusted by Bush for being caught off guard.
What seems to trouble her is that particular episode as well as what she describes as reckless immigration from Mexico. So, she tells me she won't be voting either Republican or Democrat.

If you want to reduce your fuel costs, don't use so much of it. As you may be aware, the USA motorist enjoys some of the lowest petroleum prices in the World.

I agree totally. But my point was this ..... as Americans we saw the gas prices skyrocket. Then we read about record profits..... Bush is an oil man.....And many Americans thought he was behind this to pad his pockets...... Someone was going to pay for the high prices....... It was Bush or in this case, his sidekicks in the Republican Party.

But yes, we are gas guzzlers and pay low prices.

Bush doesn't have a clue about how to run a war because he 'cut' guard training. I'm waiting to see if Americans wake up to the fact that the real reason we went to war in Iraq is to 'get' Sadam Hussein. The most expensive "hit" the world has ever seen. bk

If you want to reduce your fuel costs, don't use so much of it. As you may be aware, the USA motorist enjoys some of the lowest petroleum prices in the World. I fully understand capitolism. It's my favorite concept. However, with the oil thing the part that pisses people off is the perception that Bush is using his influence and position to make things more favorable for the oil companies. And it was this perception that voters thought of as they entered the polls.
I'm all for less usage of oil. I use a motorcyle for 75% of my transportation. I "try" and use as little electricity as possibe in my place.
