ah, yes, we fall victim to sanfranophobia, that would skew the stats, esp. due to the relative level of education/cultural diversity/high average wage earner potential/legacy of social activism, yeah, these are not high on the list of der republik's favorite things...

as for the midwest, let's just say there is a ripple effect, originating from the coast, and these fact-influenced sentiments will turn conclusive as soon as the fringe group you hear from pulls it's collective head out of the...sand.

But......dealing with this thread...here in the midwest, I have not heard one individual make the statement that Bush knew of, was behind, or could have prevented 9-11.

Denial - it's not just a river in Egypt.

One wouldn't expect in the very 'red' states to hear much dissent from the fascist faithful. Even if they have a sneaking suspicion, many will not admit it. They can't get their minds around the idea that the "family values" GOP hypocrites they support are as evil as they really are.

This is a load of bullshit.

Groups of people don't develop civilisation because they are smart- they do so because they are in the right place at the right time and they had to, or they "learnt" it through contact or invasion.

Some of the first agricultural societies were a step backwards from hunter gathering, in terms of quanlity of life. People worked harder and longer for less. It was not a nice way to live. They only did this (agricultural drudgery) because climatic change destroyed the basis for their old (hunter gatherer) way of life.

The egyptians or Sumerians or Babylonians were not smarter than anyone else- they had the luck of being on land that was easily cultivatable with wooden and stone tools. This is nothing to do with intelligence.

Other groups of people who traded or were invaded by these early civilisiations learnt a few things from them. Luck again.

All humans are the same species. The differences are less than between breeds of dogs.









Hold your horses. Let's look at this scientifically and do away with the hype for once.
For a start, even as far back as ancient Greece, it was recognised there are differences between races and the same holds true for intelligence. However, before you collapse with shock and cry "racism" that doesn't mean to say I endorse the idea white people are more intelligent than black people.
In actual fact, we know the ancient Egyptians were black and we know ancient Egypt was a highly advanced society so when I state that intelligence can be determined by race, please don't quote me as saying whites are smarter than blacks.
At any rate, this does seem to me a classic case of State brainwashing where people have been misled by quackery the same way as people were told the earth was flat in the Middle Ages.
Just to simplify this matter, my dog is a border collie which makes it more intelligent than many other canines - it's common knowledge. By the same token, when I kept aquatic fish, I knew fishes such as Oscars were more intelligent than many other types of fish.
The same is true with respect to human beings whether the politicians like it or not. The fact is the politicians are not scientists and the self-professed scientists who have been promoting the idea there is no such thing as race or racial differences in humans and animals are literally taking us back to the Dark Ages at the expense of science.

The 84% figure mirrors other recent polls on the same issue. A Canadian Poll put the figure at 85%. A CNN poll had the figure at 89%. Over 80% supported the stance of Charlie Sheen when he went public with his opinions on 9/11 as an inside job.

A recent CNN poll found that the percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington rose from almost a third to almost half over the past four years. This latest poll shows that that figure has again risen exponentially and now stands at well over three quarters of the population.
