Q's about rock shox

I'm new at suspension, just getting back into mountian biking. I have an Haro with a 1 inch head and I was looking at a used Rock Shox Quadra 10. I know it is old but was it any good and if it needs to be fixed can parts still be bought for it. It is threaded so will it be easy to install. I've read some thing about if the head tube is to long it can be cut. Is that true?

do you mean steerer tube? (like on the fork itself) then yes it can. I wouldn't go cutting a frame though (head tube).

Thanks for the reply I did mean the steerer tube. Now I need to know if the quadra is a good shock, I will email rock shox to see if parts are still available.

It really is not a good fork, but if you need to live according to a tight budget then it's what you have. You would probably better off saving for a different fork. The quads are famous for leg flex, twisting, diving, brake arches giving way. If you plan on off road activity then it's a terrible fork the more I think about it. Unless you weigh less than 120lbs and ride on pavement. Good luck.
